2013 Gran Caribe Real/ Royal Cancun Brides

Hope that wasn't confusing...she held the microphone why secretly whispering in my ear what I needed to say out loud into the microphone for my vows. She was very professional and sweet! You'll meet with whoever you pick before the wedding (ours we met two days before) and they go over everything with you!! These are professionals who know what they're doing ;) I was impressed at the fact that even though she must do a million of these a year she still made it very personal towards us which to me was very important...nobody wants to feel like a cookie-cutter couple during their ceremony! 😉

I am wondering if anyone did a reception on the beach? I keep seeing all of this pictures of past weddings but all in the terrace or indoors. I picked the beach and I am hoping it wasn't the worst idea I have ever had LOL so if anyone did have it please let me know how that went. I am getting married in the gazebo and beach reception in October 2013 :)

We did our rehearsal "dinner" cocktail hour on the beach. Minus the fact that is when we apparently all started spreading illness, it was wonderful. everyone kicked off their shoes, the bar set up was great, etc. The only concern we had was our older guests walking on sand, and they mostly sat at the tables and everyone came around to talk with them.

Hello Ladies,

I just recently got engaged, but I've been stalking this thread for awhile now cheesy.gif Everyone's comments have been very helpful.

Planning my hotel stay seems to be more complicated than I thought. Did all of you HAVE to be there 3 full business days (not counting arrival day) before the wedding?

Thanks!

Congratulations!!! You have to be there 3 full business days ahead of time if you're doing a legal ceremony, and perhaps catholic, I'm not sure on that one. I'm getting married legally at home and just doing a symbolic ceremony so it's n/a to me but otherwise yes it's a Mexican requirement not a resort thing, which is one of the reasons we decided to get married legally at home first.

Thanks so much! I'll probably do the same. Less of a headache that way cheesy.gif

I agree...once we read what you had to do to have it be legal there we both looked at each other and knew we'd just get married at city hall. We're not broadcasting it to people and just see it as an extension of paperwork but translating the documents, getting there 3 days early it was all to much for me!!

Hi Ladies!

Did any of you former brides have outside hotel guest come you your wedding?  And/or is anyone who hasn't had their wedding yet, planning on having outside guests?  I know the guests will have to get a day pass for the day of the wedding ($99/pass to my understanding).  And I know the resort charges more for these outside guest, right?

My question to those who are having outside guests:

Did you or will you be paying for their day passes?  Or are you asking them to pay for that?

And how does it work?  If you pay for it, do they just go to the front desk and ask for it?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
