2013 Gran Caribe Real/ Royal Cancun Brides

Recommended Posts

@ninao - when they had that on-line conference with a Royal representative three months or so ago she specifically said that the $350 vendor fee included 2 people from the same company (ie. photographer and assistant).

Ladies I could use your help! I just realized that I will not be arriving three full business days before my wedding, as is requested for the Catholic Ceremony. This had totally slipped my mind when I purchased my flight and stay blink.gif. Has anyone had a problem with this? I will be arriving on November 10th, which is a Sunday and my wedding is on Wednesday November 13th at 4pm. I have yet to contact my wedding coordinator to let her know but I hope that this will be no problem. Any advice would be helpful. Thanks in advance!

You may have a problem...I don't know if its any consultation but we had a symbolic ceremony and signed a certificate with our father's as witnesses and nobody knew it wasn't "the real" thing...the person who performed the ceremony said exactly what we wanted her too...so IF you run into a problem you could probably have your priest or officiant say what you previously wanted and sign papers and nobody would know any different! Good luck...it'll all work out (and may save you some money in the process too)

Hi Ladies,

For your brides still contemplating getting the video i DO NOT recommend using Gran Caribes videographer.  I purchased the Moon package that was 1200 usd and it was not worth the money. I can honestly tell you it felt like a home video with music. I am so happy I went with an outside photographer and if i would like previously seen reviews for the videographer I would have paid the extra vendor fee.

I have requested an unedited copy to see if someone here in the states can save the video (fingers crossed) I hope they cooperate. I know there are not many reviews on the video, so i hope this helps you brides that have still not decided.

Billandstina, I am so glad they make it like the real thing. I am FREAKING out because I don't know what they say at symbolic weddings. We are getting legally married here in Vancouver but just seemed cheaper and less hassel. Can I ask did you guys have to come up with everything for them to say? Is it just someone from the resort? Do they help you come up with what to say? LOL We are doing our on vows.

Monicamb, you looked stunning! The flowers are super nice and the price is too. Thanks for the info!!

I got my flowers from Maya Floral.  I got my bouquet, 2 bridesmaids bouquets, 6 large centerpieces, 6 small centerpieces.  Total 845.00.  They charge 20.00 per bag for rose petals. Theres pictures of my reception on instagram under monicazlife.  Maya Floral did a great job.  My guest were really impressed.  [email protected]

ladies, I am wondering if anyone did a reception on the beach? I keep seeing all of this pictures of past weddings but all in the terrace or indoors. I picked the beach and I am hoping it wasn't the worst idea I have ever had LOL so if anyone did have it please let me know how that went. I am getting married in the gazebo and beach reception in October 2013 :)

Don't freak out!! I had planned on re-writing it all with a knot tying ceremony etc. and by the time we rolled into Mexico I had zero energy left (or budget...which is why we legally secretly did the paperwork in Texas before we left) and left it all up to the officiant. She was fabulous...not too soppy or overly religious (we're not overly religious). She had met us once but had figured out who we were and made a point during the ceremony of pointing out that we make eye contact through everything which shows that we share a love that has communication etc. She also had everything memorized and recited a poem about our hands that hold each other through the years etc etc etc...but it was sweet and not soppy. Then she asked for two witnesses to come forward to sign our paperwork...everything looked very authentic, she proclaimed "by the power invested in me and the State of Quintana Roo, Mexico" etc etc. Very official looking all of it!! She had asked us if we wanted to recite our own vows which we declined, and at that point we also vetoed the knot tying ceremony since I was completely burned out and didn't want to waste another second planning/rewriting things when I could be relaxing with our guests. She was also a rock star in that she asked if we'd like to hold the microphones. I declined knowing I wanted to hold Bill's hands and I would be nervous, so she held it for me while whispering what I needed to say into the microphone during the vows. Couldn't have gone smoother and I'm happy we paid for the simple ceremony video just so we can watch and hear the words forever. And of course we will forever have the Speedo man standing behind us during our vows as a hysterical memory for the rest of our lives as well!! Lolol!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
