Any Grand Coral Beach Club or Indigo Beach Club Brides?

I used Zaida from Cancun. I'll agree that the transportation fee is high and so was the fee for the cake tasting (seemed strange to charge) but her designs are AMAZING. I think it all depends on your design- if you want something more detailed, you have to find someone that has that ability. My wedding planner provided me with the info of two different vendors. Once I showed her the cake I wanted, she thought Zaida was the better fit for my needs simply due to her ability to design more complex cakes. I agree her prices are high, but her work is amazing and tasty. I thought i knew what flavor I wanted, but went a different direction after trying her delicious cakes. Her flavor combinations are creative too. Good luck ladies!

We are working on getting a price list now.  It seems like for 5 hours of open bar and plated dinner, its approx $105/person.  Do not quote me, but we are still in the process of getting details.  I wanted to see if any of you have just rented out the venue and are using an outside catering for the food?  We are interested in a family style dinner and I'm not sure if Luis can do something like that. confused.gif

We just had our wedding there on 2.15.13!! Hi!  My husband and I just got married at the Grand Coral Beach Club and I can not recommend the place highly enough. I'm from Los Angeles and he's Mexican (from Monterrey) and our wedding party was 100 people. We really wanted to create a personalized, amazing wedding for our guests and the Grand Coral was the perfect place. To start, Alejandro and Luis (the coordinator and the chef) are so adept at handling weddings that you literally do not need an additional wedding planner. You just give them a list of the schedule of events, the things you want, and BAM! They make it happen. I was worried about putting my wedding in the hands of a club that I thought might operate on "mexican time" but the timing and wedding flowed perfectly.  Let me walk you through the wedding- the beach is much more private than beaches in PDC proper. We arranged for vans to pick up our guests from a couple hotels in PDC (we didn't have them stay at Mare Azul because there was another wedding party there for the next night) and were able to have the vans drop our guests off just outside the beach area- preserving the surprise of the reception area until after the cocktail hour. We covered the massage hut in white fabric and set up a welcome table underneath along with cold glasses of lemonade for our guests- at no extra cost. Guests mingled to beachy music until it was time to get seated. The Grand Coral recommended DJ- Diego Alvarado- played perfect music and had the sound system set up perfectly. We used Xochitl florals and they created a gorgeous archway and laid down mats for the aisle way. The ceremony perfectly framed the beach and the ceremony (officiated by our friend and minister) was emotional, gorgeous, and a dream come true. From there, guests left the immediate ceremony area to the cocktail hour set up outside at Alejandro's recommendation with tall tables lit up from within. We had hired Bryan Parris, a Steel Drummer, to play at the cocktail hour, and he did an amazing job playing steel drum to the backdrop of some great loungey hits. Cocktail hour was mojitos, pina coladas, and margaritas- all of which guests raved about. We had 4 types of passed canapes: smoked marlyn chalupas, tuna tartare tostada, brie/melon/proscuitto skewers, and ceviche tostadas. The food was DEVOURED by the guests and a perfect complement to the setting sun and great ambiance. Guests trickled in through the restaurant area where we had several tall tables and several longer ones in case people wanted to sit down. On the other end of the restuarant, we had our escort table set up with starfish as escort favors. It looked beautiful. The reception space looked amazing!!! We chose cream with a touch of turquoise as our colors and it was STUNNING! The rosette table cloth added so much to the decor, and again, the floral arrangements were amazingly classy, sumptuous, gorgeous! We served a plated three course meal with an extra shared plate of Octopus- the meal was a spinach salad with shrimp wrapped in proscuitto, then either salmon or beef filet, and a plated dessert. The DJ hit every song we wanted at exactly the right time and the food was great. Service was outstanding- it started to rain during the desert course, and Alejandro and his team seamlessly moved tables, moved the dance floor, and kept the party moving. Sure enough the rain stopped about 20 minutes later and we all went outside to light the paper lanterns which is a MUST if you do your wedding here. It was the most gorgeous moment! We all went back inside and got the party started with HOURS of dancing, drinking and making merry!! One of the best things about Grand Coral is that you can keep the party going as long as you like for the amazingly good price of 100 pesos ($8 dollars) per person per hour. Alejandro would give Rolis (my husband) a count of how many people were drinking (subtracting out our neices and family members who didn't drink) and let us know how much it would be. All of the planning, coordination, etc. was seamless- Alejandro responds quickly, thoroughly, and without problem. He was there for every moment of the celebration- even sending a waiter out when a friend had requested "boost" (the redbull of Mexico) and he managed the whole thing amazingly. Our wedding was a dream and Alejandro helped realize it at an amazing price, great value, and with impeccable taste. I highly recommend coming down in advance to do a tasting for everything so you know what you will be serving and to go through everything in person. However, if you can't do that, I still think this is the perfect place for a private, classy and picturesque wedding!! Message me with any other questions.

We would like to share with you some photos and slideshows from our weddings at the Grand Coral's Beach Club and the Golf's Club House so you can have a better idea.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
