Hi Girls!

I came back to the thread as promised and posted some pictures to my album of the pearl shimmer package ceremony & reception.

I also posted a picture of my makeup by Tania Tangle and some of my professional pictures from photos in cancun.

Please let me know if you have any questions because I know how stressful it was for me during the planning process.

I hope you enjoy!

-Kat :)

How was your overall experience?

Help! I have a problem with the wedding coordinator changing my package on me!

When I booked the Pure Package, several months ago, I was told that it included "photo package A"

Photo Package A included:

-          Album: 100 pictures among 60 pages with different templates (Includes 30 B&W)

-          5 Printed e-touched pictures 8”x10”

-          8”x10” Hard cover book of 22 pages containing between 29 - 31 photos

-          CD with all digital images

-           1 Continuous hour of video service, Final cut video lasting between 15 to 40 minutes long’

-          Personalized hard cover DVD case

-          Slide show

I'm now being told that photo package A includes only 36 photos in a soft cover album! EXCUSE ME?! Unfortunately, I did not save the email from my Palace contact with all the photo information when I booked my package. I simply copied and pasted the info into a word documented I have saved. I have since gotten MUCH smarter and am saving everything! I'm SO frustrated and offended that they have done this!

Does anyone have any documentation of the "old" photo packages, when "Package A" was worth something?!?

So I've read a lot of posts of people asking for various vendor info lately.... thought I'd share what I have.

JSAV is the current palace approved DJ.

Tania Tagle is an amazing Cancun make-up artist (not a palace vendor)
some of the buffet options are attached
the palace spa prices
some info about photo-booth rental/cigar rolling...

Hope this helps some of you! I know I was certainly very thankful when my WC finally started sending me info!

Hi everyone. It's been 3 weeks since my wedding at the Beach Palace on August 8 and I wanted to come back and let everyone planning know how amazing everything turned out. Like many of you, I experienced some of frustration with my off-site coordinator and didn't hear from my on-site coordinator until about 3 weeks before our wedding date. So of course, I was somewhat nervous about how everything would turn out, not to mention that weather bug forecasted rain for our entire stay.

I was completely worried for nothing! Beach Palace is a wonderful resort. The service is great and they are very accommodating to their guests. The weather was amazing and our on-site coordinator Rebeca was beyond amazing! From our first contact by email, she was on top of everything. She was flexible with me and made sure I got everything that I wanted for the wedding.

We traveled with about 30 guests, so nothing too huge. We used the complementary reservation that came with the wedding package to have a welcome dinner in the Tequila restaurant on Thursday night. It turned out great. We chose to distribute our OOT bags after dinner. We played a few games and just allowed people to meet and greet. They can set up either outside or inside the restaurant if you chose this as an option.

Oh, and Before dinner, we had a quick rehearsal with everyone from the wedding party so there would be no confusion about what to do the day of.

Our ceremony was at 4pm that Friday. The wedding was great...slightly overcoats during the ceremony so it wasn't blazing hot like it was during our rehearsal the day before. The day of the wedding I chose to relax and have a massage and pedicure to have some time alone. The spa is nice, therapists were good, and I used my room credits so only paid for the taxes. I went back to my room where my girls were having hair and make-up done. Both my hair stylist and MUA were wedding guests so I can't comment on the services at Beach Palace for that. The coordinator checked in throughout the day and gave me a quick update on how everything would run. I stayed in the room until she called for me to come up to the Sky Terrace for the ceremony. The ceremony was great and lasted no more than 25 minutes I guess. My father performed our ceremony so MIT might have had a little more than the typical vows.

We transition down to the Sky Bar which they set up with the cocktail hour on one side and the reception on the other side. Our photographer took group photos with our guests during a portion of he cocktail hour and then we went down to the beach with the wedding party for more photos.

I splurged and used Del Sol photography and they were worth every dime! They fit in perfectly and we had an amazing time with them. I can't wait to see the pictures.

For decor, I used Zuniga for lighting and a few other things and then brought a few additional elements of my own including table runners, starfish, a head table sign, and candles. I gave my items to my coordinator the day before and she set all of this up for us.

I used JSAV for DJ services and some lighting around the dance floor. I know there were some mixed reviews but the DJ we had was thheeeeeee best! Prior to the wedding, they send you a link to a website where you select up to 100 songs you want played and even pick songs to put on a do not play list. They played pretty much all we asked for and took requests from the kids and guests who asked for a few things. You even have a choice in if guests can make requests. So, they're not the worst option if you're hoping to avoid the extra fees. We really enjoyed them.

The cocktail hour and reception food was great. Just a little heads up that you don't have to go with the menu exactly as it is. I made a few requests for substitutions and the coordinator was completely fine with it. We had the tres leche cake and it was great. Got lots of remarks from guests.

Overall our experience was great. There were 3-4 weddings the weekend of mine and none of the brides had any complaints that I spoke to. You get different colored wristbands as the wedding couple/honeymooners so it was cool chatting with other newlyweds while we were there.

I've rambled on long enough but please let me know if you want to know anything else. I'll try to post a few pics from guests in the gallery.

I wish you all the best with your wedding plans. Know that you made a great choice in Beach Palace. We visited Moon Palace and felt like Beach Palace was a much better experience for our wedding ceremony and stay.

    • I recently was married at Las Caletas and had Tom Moks for our wedding photographer. I stumbled upon his work on Instagram and was captivated by the colors, authenticity, and ease of his photos. Each couple looked stunning and the moments they shared looked so passionate and pure. After reaching out to Tom, via email from his website, he responded a couple days later and we discussed his availability for our wedding date. I had to have him! Before I pulled the trigger and finalized down payments though, I decided to research some more and check out his reviews just to be safe. I came to this review thread and was so disappointed when I read about what brides were saying about their experiences.  I had it set it my mind that Tom would be our photographer and felt confused and scared to move forward with him. I had said from the beginning of the wedding planning (and heard from many previous brides) that photography is perhaps the most important money you will spend during your wedding planning and to not be frugal. Cautiously and anxiously, I decided to give a shot, fingers-crossed, and go with Tom. What I can tell anyone that stumbles across this page, like I did a few months ago, was that Tom was without a doubt the most incredible, talented, kind-hearted, genuine, hardworking, genius creator and capturer I’ve ever met or witnessed! From start to finish, Tom was honest, helpful, and easy going!  We decided to go with the package that gave us the opportunity to do a “Couples Shoot” before the actual wedding day (we decided to do this instead of traditional engagement pictures back home in Chicago as we loved the historic beauty and colors of downtown Puerto Vallarta.) Before the shoot, Tom and I had several phone conversations, in which we discussed all the logistics and details to the shoot. He answered my questions, gave me honest and real responses, and I told him we’d follow his lead. We chose to trust him and not overthink or plan out what we wanted. We trusted him to guide us and deliver amazing photo. And he did JUST THAT. I typically HATE taking pictures and feel so uncomfortable the second the lens is pointed in my direction. But Tom made this experience not only doable, but enjoyable! He made me feel beautiful, he made me feel comfortable, he made me feel amazing!   If you’re looking for someone who won’t be honest and candid with you, if you’re not able to take constructive feedback, if you’re not willing to laugh at yourself and your awkwardness, if you’re not willing to trust his process and let go of the control, Tom Moks may not be the photographer for you.  If you’re looking for photos back the next day or even next couple weeks, Tom may not be the photographer for you. Just know, he is an artist who is capturing moments that will last a lifetime. There should be no rush for that. I was MORE than happy waiting a couple of months for my photographs because they were the most stunning and incredible photos I’ve ever seen of myself and my husband. It was worth the wait.  I cannot thank Tom Moks enough for the work he did for my husband and I. He was present every step of the way and went above and beyond to capture each moment. I genuinely will miss him and hope you all get to experience the same feeling we did with Tom as your photographer!

    • Hundreds of years before, the basic jewellery were made out of seashells and bone, trees and animal skin. In the ancient times, the Egyptian jewellery first came into existence. Egyptian culture inhabited technology, gemstones, and precious metals early in comparison to other places. They were inspired by the culture of royalty and aristocracy which led to thinking noble like having a deep appreciation for luxury. This made them create impactful jewellery and leading trends. Copper was the first metal that came into existence through which we as humans got so many jewellery items.  However, the major focus on jewellery came when they discovered gold. This allowed the Egyptian to rule as the first jewellery maker. The ancient Egyptians valued adornment and were worn by both men and women.  Material and metals: The plethora of material which was used in the making of this Egyptian jewellery was basically gold and silver. Egyptian has mostly attracted towards gold and the availability of silver was less in Egypt as compared to any other place. The colour variation was due to the mixing of elements such as alloys like copper, iron, silver into gold.  Charm jewellery: It was then also an interesting concept to have charms in necklaces, bracelets and other jewellery items. It’s just they were made up of stones and precious or semi-precious jewellery. In this picture above the necklace is adorned with precious stones in different charms shapes. Gem and stones: The more royal pieces of Egyptian jewellery were adorned with the precious jewellery items. The gemstones were semi-precious stones, precious stones are other various gems. The most prized stone were lapis lazuli, rock crystal, and pearls. Emeralds were also found in these jewellery pieces. These were made from ground quartz and then molded into expensive gemstones. They are also used as charm jewellery when molded or carved in different shapes.
