Has anyone visited NOW Sapphire recently who can tell me details about the beach?

I'm concerned about reviews (older ones) that say there is a lot of seaweed/jellyfish in the water. I really want to make sure it is a clean beach with a nice, swimmable area before finalizing our wedding date. This is important to us.

Thank you for your help!

We were there last summer and the beach was clean. There is a lot of seaweed (more like sea grass) that washes up on shore and is in the water, and while they clean it up constantly, it is always there. That being said, it never kept us out of the water. It wasn't the kind of seaweed that wraps around your legs and scares you to death! More like long soft pine needles or grass. We never saw a jellyfish...maybe that's a seasonal thing? Anyway, we booked my daughters wedding there after visiting last summer....she's getting married next Oct. We thought the resort was beautiful!

Hey ladies!  I just learned that the Now Resorts app is now fully operational at Now Sapphire!   this is exciting, as it wasn't supposed to be launched until 2014.  I downloaded the app, it looks really good.

using the resorts WiFi, you can place free calls to the US and Canada through the app.    you can sign in and add 'friends' and do messaging with them - perfect way to stay in touch with our big groups while down there.  you can look at the days activities schedule, restaurant schedule and view the restaurant menus, look at weather, things to do off the resort such as tours, etc.   there is also a section called 'my stay' which you can access until you get there (as you need to put in your room number) so I'm not sure what exactly that does.  there is also some info in the 'guide' section that would be very useful for our guests who have never been to Mexico, because it has info about the area, money, legal info, transportation, safety, weather, and useful Spanish phrases.

for more info on the app, look at the now sapphire website under the 'What's Included' tab, then click unlimited connectivity.

just make sure when you go, you turn off your roaming and are using their wifi... otherwise your phone bill might give you a shock!!

Thank you so much for your response. I really appreciate it! It's comforting to know that you chose this resort for your daughter's wedding after visiting :)

Can any past brides provide some advice on filling out the wedding planning form?

Is what we fill out for our answers final?  Can we change certain things when we meet with the wedding planner when we arrive?  We still have some guests that we are waiting on, and some that haven't given us their meal choices (despite asking many times).

thanks for the info! I think this might work great for coordinating with the group when we are there and love that you can see menus and all of that, what a great idea!

I am wondering the same.. I think I heard it can be adjusted during our meeting at the resort. Anel came back with some additional questions about my form that I submitted and I had 2 people decide to book last minute which changes things.

I was waiting on a couple of meal choices as well so I didn't even include the number of each yet - I am still going back and forth with her and we are about 2 weeks away from leaving!

I think you can change things once you get there! I think most of the plaanning is done during your meeting a few days before the wedding. Don;t know for sure, but reading thru this thread, that;s what it seems like.

Thanks so much for your responses.  I have finally heard back from our guests about their meal choices, but still waiting on itineraries from another few, as my FI's family are all changing their flights to different days (I did not have a TA, my guests booked on their own).

It's good to know that we can change things if we want.

Did most of you include photos of the type of flowers you wanted in your planning form?  Did you paste them into the word document, or attach them as separate photos to the e-mail?

I am using the resort photographer because I am comfortable with the photos I've seen thus far. Everyone has their opinion but I think every photographer I've seen in Mexico doesn't compare to what we get in the states so why waste the money to use an outside vendor who will produce the same results.  In the event I don't like my wedding photos I will do a photo shoot in Central Park!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
