Hopefully going to be a moon palace bride Nov 2012 Wooooooooo.

Pretty much decided on Cancun since getting engaged in Lapland but picking a hotel has proved very confusing far too much choice finally decided that I love the wedding packages at the palace suits me best!

My Fiance and I are just waiting for the holidays to be released in the UK to be able to book! So annoying when you just want it booked.

Then the next step is which package...comp and add on or diamond! Hmmm

Mellisa :-)

I hope that things work in your favor.

As I mentioned during an earlier post, I already have 6 guests that have rented a condo off the Moon Palace property, so the chances of even being allowed to pay for yet one more additional "day pass" is probably pretty slim. (As it is, my Miami WC hasn't answered my question, as to if it's ok for more than 20% of my guest list to stay outside of the Palace Resorts - I may have to book at least one additional room and eat the cost) Anyways....I went onto the Smile Market website, the photographer contracted with the Palace Resorts, and under the FAQ section it states that as of March 25 one can no longer use Palace Resort Credits for photography or video. I am so mad I want to scream! girl_werewolf.gifI did email them directly to ask if my contract was signed prior to March 25, would the previous terms be honored. Let's see what they tell me. I will let you all know. I'm really getting tired of all the changes!

krsmith - Great engagement pictures! I agree with everyone, I think you look awesome!

JL - How frustrating. I hope everything works out. Let us know what happens.

I'm still waiting for my contract. I submitted my request over a week ago and am starting to get a little anxious. At least my travel agent has a contact with the wedding department and has told me that my date is pretty much mine and they're just waiting for the minister... but I was actually hoping not to use their minister and have one of our close friends marry us (we have requested a symbolic ceremony/renewal of vows). I assumed that was okay, but I just want to check with you ladies. Do you know if they allow me to have one of our guests marry us?

leenancy,

You don't have to worry and can have one of your friends marry you.  Once the person contacts you with the date advise them of what you want to do.  I was going to do this as well but, it turns out that my Big Sister who is also a pastor had major surgery and won't be able to attend the wedding ;-(

Thanks again ladies! You are so sweet!

I am still waiting to hear back on all the questions I sent MP. Our invites are pretty much done and just waiting on locations and times for events. Hopefully they will get back to me this week. I will have to probably sic Dan on them to get them to answer me! Haha!

I was reading through the MP 2011 thread, and saw them talking about ceremony decos moved to reception. I was REALLY hoping that the aisle bases used in the Immaculate Conception package could be moved to the tables as centerpieces so I didn't have to bother with those! It sounds like it will be a "NO" from what the girls are saying....best case hopefully would be just a fee. What are you guys thinking for centerpieces?? I want to keep it fairly cheap, but the cheapest from Deco is 25-30 per table. I guess its not much when I won't have that many tables, but their options that are more affordable are kind of ugly!

Hi, I am in the beganning stages too and actually considering this hotel for June 2012 and I was able to submit the reservation, however got scared to commit before pressing send. I am using a travel agent and she is the one that sent me the link and looked up if it was available. You may want to look about using a travel agent.

Hi! and congrats to all! I am recently engaged and considering highly MP. However don't know how to get the best deal. My quotes were pretty high for the room/air packages and am scared family will stay at other resorts. I'm don't know how to start. Does the family usually stay with couple at same hotel or does it matter? The quoted me from  dfw to cancun 950 for 3 nights, thoughts this was high for my guests. ...any thoughts or were to go get better hotel deal?

KR Smith, I read the same post. It will be interesting to see what that outcome will be. I am sending her my positive thoughts and prayers. Like you, I was hoping to be be able to "re-use" the flowers from the ceremony for the reception. I just contacted Deco/Zuniga Designs directly last week. Katie did e-mail me back with pictures, but I haven't received actual quotes yet. I was thinking about renting those tall white blocks, like the ones used in the "Sapphire Package" and then having a tall glass cylinder arrangement set on each. My thought was to then have them transported to the reception tables. I can somewhat understand a set up fee, but to not be able to use them at all is ludicrous. I know that many times in a "traditional" wedding the florist will re-use the flowers from the church and incorporate them into the reception room decor, many times re-transporting them by vehicle. If we are using a Moon Palace preferred vendor, I don't understand what the issue is. We technically "own" those flowers. What the heck are they thinking???

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
