Just putting the final touches on the wedding playlist! I cant believe we fly out tomorrow!!! My FI is being so good about the weight of the bags we have 3 suitcases and his golf clubs between us and the kids and each one is right at 50lbs! We are cutting it close. LOL

I just can't wait to be checked in and get a drink in my hand! cheers.gif

Tips from other Palace members on shots to try (I'm planning to try them all)

Bumble Bee

Mango Tango

Miami Vice

Scooby Do

Spiderman

Correlejo w/ oranges & sugar

I just had the best idea ever! Ok but this may only work if you're willing to compromise.

If you have 6 tables or less (or lots of bridal party people) get them to set up the centerpieces during the cocktail hour. Get them to bring the centerpiece stuff to the ceremony (stashed in bags in the corner, use the OOT tote bags for camouflage) and then after the ceremony get them to run over to the reception area to set them up. If they do it AFTER the venue is set up but BEFORE the guests get there you should able to pull it off without paying super REDICULOUS fees.

This won't work for everyone but if your venues are really close together and the centerpieces are simple this should help. Like using Tucan Beach and Tucan Terrace.

Ex. Vase and fake flower bouquet per table with a few votives (will take under 5 minutes to set out). Don't light candles until lights go down.

Ex. Chair sashes, 10 per table, simple bow. (3-5 minutes. 2 minutes if they move their butts).

Im not talking about strolling around at a saunter here. I'm talking about being wedding party NINJAS. Rush over, whip em out, get back to the party. Are they REALLY going to stop you? Pull everything off the tables?

Are you REALLY going to let them completely get away with highway robbery? I say fight back for the dignity of your wallet!

*Note: this really depends on the level of fanciness of your wedding. I'm pretty sure mine will just be a week long drunk fest so I'm not worried about pulling out a few ninja moves. Everyone will be too hammered to notice anyway.

Also try the Reef (I think that is what it is called)!  we had it at the Sun Palace so I imagine the Moon Palace has it as well.  And the Mango Tango's are also THE BEST!!  but once you order one, you will notice the rest of the people at the swim up bar will order one too, haha.  My fiance loves the Dirty Banana!

Good luck and congrats!!!!  :)

BDW along with this particular forum has been a great great great thing!  BIG smile03.gifto my LADIES: PalaceBride2012, LadyDi1844, Jamie5280, Krsmith, Beatyea, SummerDawn, Steph and a few others.  It's hard to remember your username since I know your names by heart ;-)  If I have forgotten anyone, please charge it to my head and not my heart.  I love you ladies and look forward to meeting most in Cancun or in NY later this year.

In either case, I wish each of you a wonderful & magnificent wedding.  This site is full of great information and can at times be over whelming.  Seek your vision along with your FI and go for it! As my time is short, I will be on the forum less and less as I'm now finalizing things for our departure etc.  however; I will continue to pay it forward and either do a Planning thread (if times permits on the front end) and/or a MP review upon my return.

MP has changed so much from the genesis of our planning in late 2010 until now.  So make sure that you get things in writing and please know that unfortunately, what may apply to one bride may not necessarily apply to another especially if you have a different coordinator.  So you can imagine the difference in packages/information from 2012 to 2013.

For those getting married after the Colin Cowel packages begin, it may be worth it with all the fees that I see that the are trying to charge for set-up.

Take care, plan well and have an awesome wedding.

My fiance is handling the packing of all this crap very well. Just glad I don't have to lug it all back after the wedding.  Have one more foot jewelry to make then I'm done with that too.

The kids came up yesterday, the ex sent my new step son up with none of the Summer clothes we bought him last year and no underware. I swear if I wasn't so happy I'd be screaming. So off we go to shop again for summer clothes

We leave Monday, I am so ready to be on the plan and done with all the planning. The weather says showers Sat I hope it changes or clears up for the 3 afternoon weddings that are going on.

Cant thank everyone enough for their support and ideas. This blog has been a god send!

These look absolutely amazing!  You did a great job!!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
