If you don't mind I have a few questions for you (I'm relatively new to the forum so fogive me if some of the answers can be found elsewhere) :
- The lights you mentioned at the reception, did you bring them or have to pay for them, or were they provided free of charge?
- Is there a particular reason you chose the grill over the beach for the reception? We are not even sure what our options are! We are looking at the Strawberry Passion package also.
- You mentioned dancefloor, did they have an area sectioned off for this?
- Where did you buy the macaras?
- Do you have pictures online that I can see?

Thank you so much and congrats on becoming a Mrs!!
Joanne
You're very welcome!!! :) No problem about the questions, if you have more let me know!

-The lights were an extra charge, $10 per string of lights which was a little expensive I thought but I am glad we did it because it really gave the room a nice feel.
-We chose the grill only because I had seen photos of it a year ago from another wedding and loved it, and I personally never wanted a beach reception (no real reason, just wasn't my thing) but I still wanted it to be an open air room since we were in Mexico.
-For the dance floor, they basically had the center of all of the tables for the dancing area. It was really nice because we had our head table, and then the tables all around the head table, and in the centre was the dance area, so if people wanted to sit and watch the dancing it was right next to their table.
-We bought the maraca's at a store in the resort, actually. They were $3.00 for 2 maraca's and I'm sure we could've found cheaper in Playa del carmen but just didn't have the time. We just bought one for each table, and two for each end of the head table so our bridal party could shake them also if they wanted.
-The only pics I have so far that are up are the ones on the blog on the first page of this review from our photographer, I tried to upload some of my own to facebook and it wouldn't let me! I will try again and I can share that with you when I do if you have facebook.

:-) Cara

Aw congrats & hugs Cara!!! So glad everything turned out for you and your pics are so good! I love the one of you hugging him with only the bright blue sky in the background (frame it), and the one of you both laughing so hard in the water. so cute :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
