El Dorado Royale (EDR) Brides - POST HERE!

BagLover...I see you are having the BBQ deluxe. I was wondering if you know how the dinner is served (buffet, served). Also I am having our welcome dinner/rehearsal at the restaurant and I was wondering how you are decorating the tables for your dinner there :)

Laur13- I was told that the BBQ deluxe is served buffet style where your guests would go up and get their own food. I am having this as well.

Also, I am having my rehearsal dinner at El Cocotal and Valeria suggested that i do table runners and votive centerpieces for decoration for this dinner.

Laur13 - I currently don't have table decorations for the Rehearsal Dinner. I may or may not add them. I am doing a lot for the reception (centerpieces, vases, 4 votive candles per table, tiffany chairs) so was thinking that low key for RD would work.

My guests will go up and get their own food for the Mexican BBQ like dimplz said. I thought it would be cool to have it as our meal since it's so popular.

Awesome! It sounds like the mexican bbq will be perfect for the dinner then. I love the idea of just doing runners with votives for the rehearsal dinner...low key but pretty. I am doing tall hurricane centerpieces (for the wedding night dinner) with a candle in the middle and sand in the bottom and I asked them to put palm leaves under the centerpiece. I thought that looked beachy...maybe I will do napkin rings or something else. I've decided to have this BBQ dinner on the actual beach! :) So excited! Thank you for your ideas and thoughts. I have asked Carolina about the liquor and she is checking with the hotel so let me know what you here back so we can compare.

  • 2 weeks later...

The bathrooms in the regular rooms are very nice and spacious. They have a walk in shower that is gigantic. I was actually really impressed with them. Ane there is a big soaking tub in the room by the patio, which was kind of different, but we never really used it when we were there. Hope this helps!

Assuming that you want a guys opinion as well, here goes...

There are 2 different models of bathrooms in the jacuzzi jr suites. An old and new model, but both are very nice and roomy. Large walk-in showers. Long counter with toiletries and fresh flowers.

In the old ones, you walk in and the sink/counter faces out onto the front walkway with the shower towards the room. In the new ones, the sink/counter face towards the room with the shower and toilet behind you. Little bit nicer if you ask me, but both are more than adequate!

Hope that helps! We can't wait to get back there again soon for our 4th time!

Hey everybody! Thought I would introduce myself as an EDR bride now! My fi and I just had to switch locations for our wedding last week when we found out that the Gran Caribe Real had overbooked the resort the week of our wedding, and we still had several guests that needed rooms. We were planning on spending our honeymoon at the EDR, but it looks like now we'll be there the whole time. :)

I'm trying to roll with the punches, but since we're only 3 months out, I'm kinda stressed since. It really feels like we're starting from scratch after planning for everything at a different resort.

Has anyone been married in the chapel at the EDR? We were planning on doing the Catholic wedding in the all glass chapel at the Gran, which is really the only thing that I'm disappointed about having to move. It will all workout though...hopefully!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
