I think you can really have some fun with this. When your girls walk down, do they HAVE to stand behind you?? How about this... picture the groom standing at the end of the aisle waiting for you. Your BM walks down, gives the groom a hug and kiss on the cheek (a sign of acceptance) and then moves over to "your" side of the front. The next girl walks down and gives the groom a hug & cheek kiss then goes to his side of the front. Your MOH walks down and gives the groom a hug & cheek kiss than goes to stand beside the other BM on your side. This way you have your MOH beside you and each BM on either side of you & your groom.

Of course, this is only one idea, overall my suggestion is to have fun & be creative. Your guests won't be expecting it and may find it rather interesting because it will be different from other weddings they have been to. Have a DW really gives you the freedom to make the wedding yours without expectations of past traditions.

I wish you all the best!!

I agree with thomasjsgirls - tradition goes out the door with destination weddings. We do not have any grooms men or best man. I have 2 daughters and FI has 1 so our 3 young ladies (who are 21, 20, and 17) will walk down the aisle alone. My two daughters will go on my side and his daughter on his side and that's it! I wouldn't worry too much about this, most people will be too interested in the bride and groom, instead of counting how many BM and GM are on each side.

I wouldn't stress too much about this at all. I like the idea of your girls standing on both sides of you and the groom, but if that bothers you why not have them sit down after they go down the aisle? In fact, lot of DWs have no attendants at all, so I don't think it would seem that awkward.

But anyway, uneven numbers of attendants is becoming very hip these days. Everyone is getting sick of the whole "matchy matchy" aspect of weddings. Another way to make it seem a little less awkward would be to have your bridesmaids wear different shades of dresses in your color palette so that you have a less heavy feel if they're all standing to one side of you. I'm including a couple of pics of what I mean.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
