Jellyfish Restaurant

Recommended Posts

Ladies . I'm in Punta Cana for the next couple of days. Meeting with Mayte on Tuesday. I. Doing some site visits. If you have any questions ask me now... Please no questions on Date availability. I think it would be odd to run down a list of dates to her. Lol

I hope you have a fantastic time and take lots of pictures. Let's see..these are the questions I can think of right now.

Can you please ask her if its an additional cost to have a white wooden aisle?

How many cigars does the cigar roller make? 1 per guests?

is there a list of cake flavors? or the name of the bakery she uses so maybe we can look them up online?

what is the earliest time she allows brides to get to jellyfish if they plan to get ready at the restaurant?

Thank you!

I was going to email Mayte asking about the bridal dressing room, but I bet there are others on here wanting to know details too!

I heard that it'll up for use starting in September?? Maybe ask if there's an extra fee or anything like that involved? Kind of goes along with KnC2014's question about how early brides are allowed to arrive.

Thanks for asking! :)

Hi DeeP10! Have a fantastic time!

I'd like to know if the price for the cigar rollers include the cigars for the guests too or is it separate?

Thank you :)

Did anyone NOT book a DJ??

If so, will there still be a sound system/mic?

I'm considering not booking a DJ.

We're from Texas, so I already know that I'll have to make a huge country play list.

$700 is kind of steep when I'm already doing half the work.

And there are plenty of outgoing groomsmen that would love to play MC and make announcements, and one of them is already planning on bringing his guitar to play probably during the ceremony.

Let me know if anyone has info on this.

Hope you had a nice trip to Punta Cana. How was your meeting with Mayte? Are you still going with Jelly Fish? I'm still waiting to hear if my date is available.

Did any brides give Mayte a budget? I am having a really small wedding, 20 guests. I was planning on asking her if we could stay around a certain $ amount for decor. Also did anyone do a custom bar option, or is that even doable? Our guests are strictly wine and beer drinkers so I didn't know if there is an option to do just serve beer, wine, water and soft drinks all night?

As for the decor, I really hope that's an option - it sounds like it is from her pricing. I am looking to keep it at a minimum and am hoping she can use stuff that she already has.

For drinks, there is a simple open bar open for $8 per person, per hour. It includes:

SIMPLE OPEN BAR

Ron Brugal Carta Dorada
Vodka Eristoff
Cerveza Presidente
Soft Drinks
Juices

Bottled water

But no wine...

The dinner open bar is:

DRINKS FOR DINNER
During all time dinner

Wine red and white
Beer
Soft drinks
Juices
Bottled water

And that is $10 per hour during dinner.  Maybe she will extend it past dinner for you?

Melissa did you get this question answered? We have two DJ's in my family attending the wedding so I really only need the sound system as well.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
