  1. Did anyone NOT book a DJ?? If so, will there still be a sound system/mic? I'm considering not booking a DJ. We're from Texas, so I already know that I'll have to make a huge country play list. $700 is kind of steep when I'm already doing half the work. And there are plenty of outgoing groomsmen that would love to play MC and make announcements, and one of them is already planning on bringing his guitar to play probably during the ceremony. Let me know if anyone has info on this.
  2. I was going to email Mayte asking about the bridal dressing room, but I bet there are others on here wanting to know details too! I heard that it'll up for use starting in September?? Maybe ask if there's an extra fee or anything like that involved? Kind of goes along with KnC2014's question about how early brides are allowed to arrive. Thanks for asking!
  3. Just sent my deposit to book July 31, 2014! Waiting (anxiously) on confirmation. A few questions... -Prices to upgrade the ceremony chairs to chavari, or white wooden chairs? Some weddings posted on their blogspot have them. -I read somewhere that we could get fireworks? It wasn't listed on the price sheet. Does anyone have info on that? Random questions, but definitely things I'll probably want to start budgeting for. And I don't want to bother Mayte too much if y'all can answer my questions.
  4. Trying to have Mayte send me available dates for next summer. Her generic "brides" email response said that 2014 is almost completely full. Yikes! Does anyone know what exactly is taxed? Another location I'm looking into only taxes food, alcohol, and entertainment. Also, she sent the 2013 price list. I know the 2014 list isn't available yet. Does anyone know if I'll be grandfathered in the 2013 prices since that's what she sent me now, or will I obligated to use the new 2014 prices? I'm expecting at least 80 people so even a little jump in prices could mean a big chunk of cash for me.
