Jellyfish Restaurant

Recommended Posts

Astef- We planned on meeting Mayte on the Wed. we arrived, but by the time we settled in, we were tired and it was getting late.. so we met with her on the Thurs (she was busy planning a wedding that afternoon, but you have her attention) plus it was raining/thunder.. welcome dinner was on the Friday, wedding was on the Saturday.  Don't stress/overwhelm yourself because honestly its almost 3 months later I'm wanting to go on an actual honeymoon because I feel like my husband and I werent able to relax/were always with people.

Lona- not worth it to rent out the restaurant, Mayte will even tell you that..unless you were to have a huge wedding or if you have issues with people eating dinner upstairs (they go by a different entrance).

Sunny- I'm sure you can and there would be an additional cost, just ask Mayte.

Sooooooooo.. I can't sleep, here are some pictures (still waiting on professional pictures):

Hi Hildalin,

I was wondering if you have had any luck with contacting Mayte to book your date? I'm trying to book for Oct 19 and I still haven't heard back from her.

Hi Lona,

I did hear back from Mayte, it did take sometime though. I have not booked my date as I cannot decide between Jellyfish and Kukua, I plan to go down in March and hopefully decide and book on the spot.

Is anyone having (or those of you who've had) a legal ceremony at the Jellyfish, Do you know if we have to be there 3 business days ahead of the ceremony?  We are trying to book our resort and figure out what days to go but I've been waiting for mayte's response over a week now!

I also asked her if she knew what time the ceremony will be so I can do my invitations but haven't heard back...

Yes, but with the wedding on a Sunday is it 72 hrs on business days or just 72 hours?  That's what we aren't sure of.

I read somewhere on here that it's 72 business hours, and that Saturday counts as a business day in the DR, but the day you get down there doesn't count.

Don't quote me though!  I can't handle that responsibility!  I bet it's in a thread somewhere in the DR weddings forum...

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
