If you qualify for the unlimited private functions, doesn't that automatically include a 4-hour bar for free?  So if you did a "true" private event, then the only thing you'd be paying for is set up per person plus decor (the food and drinks should be free for up to 4-hours per day).

At MP Cancun, there's a VIP Beach Bar near Sunrise that is pretty private. It closes at 8pm, but I was told you could use it after 8pm -- may not technically be a private event, so people could come in and out, but honestly if theres a big group of people that already all know each other and a few stragglers come in, I doubt they'd stick around too long... but that way, the bar/decor is free (so no need to pay for that)...

Just a thought.

She is suggesting the Tucan Terrace - we are looking for a really private location with a bar that is included.  Does anyone know which location would give us that for our reception?

Thank you!

The Grand Terrace (by the pool) looks very private and has a bar.  I'm having my cocktail hour and reception at that location.  The Tuscon Terrace looks very pretty as well from the pictures I've seen.  It looks more private than some of the other terrace and over looks the ocean.  People can still be walking by though.  Don't think there is a bar there.

Be persistant in what you want. I got the caribbean terrace with my unlimited private functions. They do add a set up fee of $12 per person since it is up stairs.

I think that when you do the rooftop terrace it's a little bit extra for set up.  I have read reviews on here where they have cocktail hours there.

I don't think a bar is included in the Tucan Terrace.  I think if you have over 35 people it's considered a "private function" and you can't have them at a bar/restaurant.  My WC told me I would have to do a ballroom or an outside terrace.  I opted for a terrace because I think only one of the ballrooms has a lot of windows.

Hi Again,

I just got my nifty little package of details from the WC.  None of the flowers really excite me in the sapphire package - can we pick flowers from another package of equal or lesser value?

Also - I'm keen on getting flowers from outside the resort for my 2 BM and extra boot's for the 2 GM - is there a secret to getting them descretely on to the resort?  Or do they just know how to package them properly?  Does anyone recommend them?

I'm also looking for a map of the resort that is clear - I found one on the resort webpage but you can't really see much unless you zoom in and I'd like to be able to put the map in our OOT gift bags.

I think that is all my questions.....for now!!

Thanks all you lovely ladies!

Angela

81 sleeps until we leave and 85 sleeps until I get married!  WOOHOO!

Angela,

If you pick different flowers you have to pay for the upgrade. Lots of other brides order from Maya Disneo and just have them delivered as a gift from home. Here's his website:

http://mayadisenofloral.com.mx/

When you check in, guests receive a little pocket sized map, or at least my family always has.

It's so exciting being less than 90 days!

Is Maya Disneo cheaper than the resort's flowers?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
