I take mine off to sleep, to shower, to clean, and often to swim or excercise. I am a little fearful of losing it but mostly I just don't want to wreck it!

FI hates it when I take it off outside of doing these types of things ("where's your ring? why aren't you wearing it?") but actually will get mad at me if he sees me wearing it when I go to the pool or something cause he's afraid of it being lost or damaged too!

Thanks for posting this question! I have been wondering the same thing.

Right now I take it off when I do dishes, put on lotion, and shower. Just not for rinsing my hands. Problem is, I keep forgetting to put it back on until I'm already out of the house. sad.gif Mine was a bit loose so I brought it back to the jeweler's. It was around 6.5 and they're going to size it down to 5.75. I think maybe having a ring that fits just right will help you remember to put it back on? I found that because it was loose, I wouldn't really realize it wasn't there anymore.

I LOVE it and the day we got engaged, I asked FI if he minded me taking it off to shower and sleep that night. He laughed at me! He said he understood and it didn't both him. I have just never slept, showered, swam, etc with any jewelry on. I put it on in the morning, go to work, get home, and remove everything but my e-ring and a small piercing on the middle of the edge of my ear that I forget about. When I am painting (hobby) I try to remember to take the ring off because I would freak out if I accidently painted it.

I have RARELY seen my mom take hers off. She's worn in pretty much nonstop or 25 years, even if she is making hamburger patties out of raw ground meat, which I think is funny. Only for cleaning the ring itself have I seen her finger without that thing. It's just person comfort I guess.

I've only been engaged about a month now, but I take mine off every night and keep it in the box. Then I wait until I'm done getting ready in the morning and put it back on before I leave. I also take it off to put lotion on. I would also wait to see how it does in the summer before resizing it.

I NEVER take my ring off. I wear it in the shower, pool, gym, while getting my nails done...I have taken it off to clean it, and that's about it. My mom once taught me that the safest place for your ring to be is on your hand, and I think she's right. It does get loose when it's cold out but it's not going anywhere and I'll have it resized when I get my wedding ring. I don't trust my ring to be anywhere but on my finger.

I take mine off all the time- to shower, clean, sleep, work out, etc. I just keep the ring box handy (I bring it when I go on trips). I still am not quite used to wearing it and we've been engaged for a year. I once read somewhere that you should treat your ring like a fancy dress- would you wear that in the shower? It's totally your preference, but I have no qualms about taking it off.

I love my ring too and would be crushed if I ever lost it! I do take it off when I am doing some cooking (making meatloaf!! No raw meat is getting in there!) and I am going on a vacation to the Dominican Republic (just me and my baby girl, FI has to work) and I am going to leave my ring at home just to be safe. Also, sometimes when I put lotion on I take it off.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
