We are thinking of doing something for our guests too.  Instead of a rehearsal dinner, we want to do a welcome event that includes everyone the afternoon before the wedding.  We really wanted to take everyone on an afternoon snorkeling cruise but who knew it was going to be so fricking expensive!! (average price was $70 per person!!)  Since we might have upwards of 40-50 ppl coming, that was definitely out of the question.  But I did find a snorkeling cruise that is only $32 p/p from Jaital tours (www.jaitel.com), and I think that included transportation from the resort to Ochos Rios.  This was one of the cheaper tours they offered but they have a bunch of fun tours that I'm sure guests would love, just depends on how much you want to spend.

Didn't actually finish writing about that tour.... oops!  The snorkeling part of the tour is only an hour, and then they take you to Margaritaville in Ochos Rios and you can stay as long as you want.  Just thought I would add that! :)

Anyone know what bar location might be a good place to have a welcome party/bachelor/bachelorette party at?!  I'd rather keep it a bit low key at first...then perhaps move to the disco to amp it up a bit later...would the piano bar be appropriate?!  There's going to be about 30+ people, but I don't want to be the only people partying?!

We are planning on getting a private catamaran that picks you up in Ochos and then you go snorkelling for like 1 hr then they take you to Dunns for a couple hours. Further, all the food and drinks are included and its about $68 pp including admission to Dunns.

I think the site is budget jamaica tours or something..they have a lot of cool ones on there!

I'm not sure but I hope someone can come up with a good suggestion bc I am wondering the same thing.  Our guests are arriving on a Thursday and we are planning to do bachelor/bachelorette parties that night and just send the guys and girls to separate bars...then eventually meet up later that night.  We are going to make tshirts for everyone to wear (as long as I can find cheap t's) and put fun sayings on them with iron on print outs.  I highly doubt you would be the only people partying, but with that many ppl, who cares?  You guys will start the party!!  :)

We're doing welcome drinks at the lobby bar. I've never been to the hotel but on the 3 AI vaca's I've been on the lobby bar has always been a great place to hang out in the early evenings. 2 nights before the wedding we're tentatively planning to do a group outing to Margaritaville in Ochos Rios (we're doing our stags back at home)

we are also doing something similar, the women are all going shopping in ocho rios and then to margarittaville for the afternoon, while the guys are going golfing during the day.  Sunday night im arranging for everyone to meet at the lobby bar after dinner for some cocktails and then go dancing kind of a mini stag n doe and for everyone to get to know each other.

                  Hey girls,
I thought i would share a little info that I got today from the Wedding coordinator's assistant. I asked if there was any way that I could set up a dinner meal one evening for our guests to get to know one another and she gave me an email contact to set that up.

For dinner reservations, please contact our Public Relations Manager, Melissa Clarke at prexecutivebpjam@bahia-principe.com

I was also wondering if there is any Internet connection by the gazebo or any way to do webcasting while down there, and she said:

For webcasting you may contact Oneil Rumble at neilo_935@yahoo.com

so i'm waiting for a reply from the webcasting guy and will post anything I find out from him!

Akua420 - that's a great idea, we're thinking of the same thing, again depending on how many reply.  and congrats, i can't even imagine how excited you must be getting leaving within the month!!!

Espejo2be - let me know what info you come up with for the live "broadcast" of the wedding.  i'm in the same situation with my grandpa and would love for him to be there, but it's really not possible, so that would be great if somehow it can be showed live (of coarse we could tape it and show it later, but that's just not the same).

A question for all the girls, has anyone heard of doing a webcast of the ceremony fir family can't make it to watch live? My grandmother is a huge part of my life and because she cannot make it I was wondering if it's still possible to make her a part of our special day. My mom suggested skype but I don't think that will work down by the gazebo! Any suggestions?

Please let me know what you hear from the webcasting guy! I never even considered it as an option but I'm sure my friends that are going to make it as well as my grandparents on my Dad's side & aunts & uncles would love to watch.
