Calgary Brides!

Currently I'm in Edmonton but in Calgary all the time.  I'm hoping one of those Deal-a-day websites like Grouponn will put on a 2 for 1 ticket special and I can treat one of my bridesmaids with me to the show.

Just wondering who people used as a travel agent. I have family and friends that will be attending our wedding and they are spread all over the country. I'd like to work with a travel agent that can help us pick a resort (in Puerto Vallarta) as well as ensure that we can get everyone there within a few days of each other. Any suggestions would be great!

Hi! I am using someone local to Lethbridge. I was concerned, since FI and and I are the only ones from here, but she was great about responding to emails and questions online very quickly.... the communication was very important to me. She will be coordinating people from various towns, even from the States. I hope it works out; I am forseeing some difficulties with some of my guests.

Anyway, you can do what I did. I sent out a LOT of emails one evening. Basically, any travel agent with a website in Lethbridge. Then I briefly conversed with the first few who responded. It made my decision easy.

I also know some brides rave about the travel agents on here, so you may want to check them out too.

Hey! I used Kim McCrae with AMA Travel ( you don't have to be a AMA member) she has been great, and the prices were better than the other TA's i researched..  the AMA office is in Crowfoot.. but we dealt via phone and email.. and we had guests in Kelowna, Calgary, Toronto, other places in BC. and it all worked perfectly!!

I leave for my wedding in LESS than 2 weeks now!! woohoo!!

Ladies----I also am in Calgary and was married in Punta Cana at Dreams Palm Beach in Oct. 2011. I spent many, many hours on this site while in the planning stages and I must apologize for not posting reviews and info as yet....I'm getting there and will have it up shortly. Just know there is nothing like a destination wedding and your guests will love it, regardless of the "stuff" you are so concerned about. Relax and enjoy the build up. I am now clearing out my post wedding items. I have posted a thread under "buy, sell, trade, etc" titled, Post Wedding Items Canada. The thread didn't allow me to indicate I will sell in Cdn dollars but I certainly will. I'll be adding additional items in the next few days.....

Hi Ladies!

I am planning my wedding at  Beach Palace for April or May 2013- Right now I am trying to confirm pricing. A reasonable price for my guests is most important to me. Any recomendations in regards to Travel Agents, AMA, Flight Centre?

I'm using Romantic Planet for my booking - have had an excellent experience so far. Theyre great because Weddings/Honeymoons is ALL they do..not just a standard travel agent - and they're not necessarily biased to one tour operator (i know AMA really pushes Air-Canada Vacations)
I think their link is at the bottom of my signature if u wanna have a peek!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
