I got my dress from Jessica Bridal which was just north on Macleod from Chinook Mall. The price was great, and I am super happy with my dress. The service was so-so, but my girls namely helped me in and out of the dresses which turned out to be half the fun.

I agree that maybe I should have gotten something a little lighter but I had my heart set on fluffy and huge, sooooo...

BEST OF LUCK

That is where I got my dress, I had good service I went in there tried it on loved it, left to think about it and came back 3 weeks later and they remembered who I was it was great. I haven't gotten my dress yet it should be in soon so I hope the rest of my experience is as good. One of my bridesmaids got her dress here as well

So I had my appointment at David's bridal and I was pleasantly surprised! My consultant was great and I actually found five dresses that I really liked. I have another appointment booked in a few weeks to go try them on again, this time with my mum and other bridesmaids for their opinions. I had really low expectations about David's but their selection was great and I lucked out with a great consultant. I am torn between getting a light floay dress or a poofyish super wedding feeling one. All the dresses were light in weight but a few had some netting which makes them big. I think I am going to be one of those customers who goes back ten times befor making a decision lol

I am on a pretty tight budget, and didn't really want to spend a fortune on a dress. I looked at wedding dresses at bridal shows, online, in a million magazines, and had a terrible experience at David's...I ended up buying a dress from a lady on Kijiji. She sells new dresses from her house, and all the dresses are less than $400. I tried on about 6 dresses and found my dream dress! Look on kijiji or pm me and I'll send you her details.

Ladies, did we figure out the contact info for a good seamstress, I got my dress Friday and I am not sure if I am going to get an alterations or not, everything is great I may add cups (no boobs) and possibly a bustle although I am not sure the train isnt that long but I would like to go to someone who doesnt charge as much as these bridal stores I cannot believe that this isnt included after you spend so much on a dress, I am being cheap but I would like to save a little where I can! cheesy.gif

Does anyone know of a good place to get your wedding dress cleaned and preserved? Bridal centre said it depended on how dirty from $350-$550. Thats a little steep for me. Any advice?
Did you already have your wedding? If not I would highly recommend you do the cleaning at your resort! I did mine there and it was 113 pesos or approximately $11 canadian! They did an amazing job! Otherwise I don't know about places in Calgary, my recommendation would be to call around and ask for prices everywhere and unless it's got sand ALL over dont tell them you trashed it (if you did) because prior to leaving I asked a couple places for prices and they said 'well are you doing a trash the dress' it was like they were going to give me an alternate price if I said yes..?!

Yes I'm already home, I did my trash the dress shoot the day before we flew home so I didn't have time to get the resort to clean it. It's actually not that bad considering I "trashed" it. Ok I'll call around, thanks!
