Steel Drum Band ROR

Recommended Posts

I had the band for my wedding and I LOVED it!! It really made my Jamaican wedding perfect, when the ceremony was over we danced around with champagne and got some really original pictures!! It was expensive... but worth every penny!!

I am having a major issue on this, It is the one and only thing that my FI has been adamant about that he wants! We were going to go for 2 hours then then increase happened, so he was like well I at least want it for 1 hour, now that its only 6 weeks away and we have had to pay our taxes hes like well I am cutting it we don't have the money, so I think my mom and I are going to do it for him as a surprise. We are doing the free cocktail hour(this just come with rum punch and fruit punch) from 5-6 (our ceremony is at 4) at the ceremony location that way people aren't just standing around waiting for pics and I think I am going to have them play during that time!

For those of you who have rented the steel drum band for one hour, did you have them play during the ceremony and for another half hour after? or did you get them for an hour after the ceremony during champagne toast or coctail hour? My wedding is at 11:00 am and would like to have either champagne or appetizers for an hour after and unsure about what to do.

We had them for our recent wedding and to be honest I can barely even remember what they played after the 2 songs I specifically asked for! My mind was in such a cloud!! I just wanted to make it to the gazebo without bawling!

When we had spoke to Chandlyn about what to play I asked for the Canon in D while I walked down the aisle. But they played it as the whole wedding party came down! I guess I should have clarified that a little better. They also started playing the last procession song way early! After that, things were a blur!! I had intentions of tipping but after the ceremony I was swept away to take pics!

We are thrilled we had them as it certainly put the jamaican flavor in the wedding and our guests totally enjoyed them!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
