so we ended up not having our wedding at a resort...but when looking these were the five musts for us!

1.) all inclusive

2.) one ceremony a day

3.) private ceremony location on the beach (Las Caletas ended up being just that!)

4) responsive wedding coordinator

5.) outside photographer allowed

1 - All inclusive

2 - Very family friendly

3 - Free wedding package with add ons available

4 - Gazebo weddings

5 - A resort that could still make me feel like a princess, for cheap!!

It was really kind of funny. My fiance and I didn't do much research into resorts. I feel like such a slacker compared to all of you. Seriously, I think that the MP was the first resort we looked at, and we looked up costs and they worked, so we were like, that's it!! We didn't even look at anything else!

Great thread! I love reading everyone's top 5! I know some of mine are more like 2-in-one but I couldn't cut them out

1. Beach ceremony (but hopefully no random guy in a speedo in the background)

2. All inclusive w/ good food

3. Family friendly

4. 4 star +, but not too expensive

5. Reviews from Trip Advisor since we can't make a site visit

1. not in mexico (this was during swine flu hype) / easy to fly to

2. all-inclusive

3. catholic wedding

4. relatively affordable for the guests, still a 4 star resort

5. included kids - though now, I just found out they are not coming!

Great thread!!

Wedding Top 6:

1. Wedding gazebo overlooking the beach - Far away from the swim up pool bar because the last time I was at Riu in Cabo the entire pool sang Youâ€ve Lost That Loving Feeling to the bride as she walked down the aisle. All of my friends think that was hilarious and want to do that to us blush2.gif

2. Value of the wedding packages

3. Everything for the wedding done at the resort by the resort!

4. 1 wedding per day

5. Great WC

6. Good resort website. I am really techy and hate when I canâ€t get info online.

Resort Top 5:

1. AI

2. Family friendly

3. Ease in getting there – short travel time from PHX, SAT, MCI and close to destination airport

4. Swim up pool bar

5. 4 star or higher

When we originally were going to do it in Mexico my top 5 considerations were:

1. All Inclusive

2. One wedding per day

3. Small and Intimate (less than 150 rooms)

4. Beach weddings

5. Easy to get to

LOVE the chart by the way :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
