Advice to Brides from a MOH

Recommended Posts

Haha, and this can help you realize that you're NOT asking for too much.

Oh yes, down to the .25. I was SO embarrassed even asking these girls for that.

It's so strange... I even gave a tearful speech that everyone complimented me on later that I now regret. I shouldn't regret things like this, the hard part is how to tell her without things blowing up even more since I'm now the bride-to-be... :)

kittenheart & Jamielynn.. that book is awesome and you definitely have to read 'something blue' after.. its from darcys prespective :)

I cant believe all you had to go through, but i cant say im not surprised. I have heard all sorts of stories of how brides have been. I think the golden rule really needs to apply; 'due unto others as you wish others do unto you'. I know its super corny but if people would just treat others the way they would hoped to be treated if the tables were reversed, these things would never happen!!

lol wow! All I can say is you have my sympathy for putting up with all of that crap! You are a far better/nicer person than I would have been about it. I would have quit on that girl ages ago if I had been in your place. You must have the patience of a saint. :)

Wow, that's just ridiculous. God Bless you for dealing with that. I would have laughing and said...Clean It Yourself!!!

I hope my girls don't think I'm bad. And I know I want to do something extra special for my MOH, but for you to get the same gift as the others was wrong too!

Sorry you had to go through that, lesson learned for all!!!

Wow. I am speechless. I just hope she doesn't pull any attention grabbing crap at your wedding, because seriously you've gone through enough with her. I probably missed it, but did you and the other BMs go back to clean up the mess the day after? And was she and hubby there cleaning along?

Man, you are a trooper!

If the groom had dared ask me to clean up after all the crap i'd just put up with I'd have punched him in the mouth and told him to fuck right off lol I hope you give her total frigging hell with your wedding lol

My MOH turned up, got herself ready, did her make up and I had to wait for her! lol She was supposed to do my make up but I gave up on that when she was still pissing about an hour later so got myself sorted lol

The co-ordinator came to get me and she is outside on the balcony having a tab! I swear i nearly choked her lol so I think you were an angel lol

Wow, it must've taken a lot to bite your tongue! I'm sorry but a $3k bachelorette party in Vegas?! Fun sure, but I think that's asking a little much from your girls.

My friend was recently a MOH for a bride who did a bachelorette party in Vegas and she put together these cute travel kits for all the guests (that cost her a fortune), organized the whole trip and planned the daily activities.

At the end of the trip, the bride complained that the MOH didn't 'get the party going' enough by ordering shots at the clubs... WOW!

I hope I am the opposite of Bridezilla! I'm normally pretty easy going, so I don't think it will be a problem. Even though weddings can be stressful, you just have to remember that your wedding party are not your slaves and after the wedding they are still your friends and you have to face them!

I'm sure none of us DW brides would be like that anyway wink.gif

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
