***TTD (Trash the Dress) Thread - please post all of your questions here!

I've been debating the same thing, if I want to do it or not. We're getting married in Laguna Beach and the ways are a bit too big(not too mention cold) I'm not really sure I want to be in the ocean, it's different then if it was somewhere tropical.

Has anyone heard of having 2 dresses? Because the wedding dress I want is like a satin and I just would hate to ruin that dress, but there are other more beachy dresses that I love(just not as much as the one I think I'll buy) so maybe I could do the TTD with that?

I actually bought an additional wedding dress for $50 from ebay. My mom bought my 'real' wedding dress, so I didn't want to 'trash' it. So I found a cheap, cute one to use instead. We're actually going to do our TTD session the Thursday before our wedding, so afterward we can just relax :)

I say go for it!! As the other ladies said, you can go into town, or whatever makes you feel comfortable. I really want to do it, but will not for 2 reasons, 1. the FI is totally against me ruining my dress, and I could get another like everyone has said, but to my next reason, 2. We're planning on getting Elizabeth Medina, and I just cannot afford the second session!! sad.gif Oh well, the price I pay (pun intended) for getting the photog that I adore

That is one main reason we may not too. I am getting a photographer whose work I love but he is traveling cross country to shoot our wedding and I'm pretty sure that's going to kill our photography budget. What about having someone else do the TTD?
I was thinking of having my bridesmaid who is also a photographer do it, since she'll be there and she loves taking pictures, why not?

I say GO FOR IT! Your pics will be AMAZING, because they will show you and your soon-to-be-husband truly having the best time in not such a "posed" way as traditional wedding photos....I think you'll be glad you did! And why not do it to celebrate your new marriage the day AFTER the big day! Don't feel like you have to be too sexy if that's not your thing -- just do what makes you happy and comfortable.

Best wishes, and please let us know what you decide! wink.gif

Tracy, GO FOR IT! What's the worst that can happen, honestly? It would be an amazing time, and I think so much fun! If it comes out great, it'll be better than you expected, and if if you don't try it at all, you may regret the missed opportunity! You can't recreate these moments, or the environment! I've seen some beautiful, and TASTEFUL TTD pics, and my TTD photog, has really romantic elements in his photographs, whether the background be jungle and rocks, the beach, or anything of that nature! You'll decide what's best overall for you and your FI! Good luck!

Oh my goodness, I didn't even think of that!!!! That is SUCH a great idea!! I can get a cheapo dress to appease my love, and have a friend do the photos. You are my lifesaver!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
