Dreams La Romana

Recommended Posts

Woohoo, just sent my confirmation in to book our wedding date at DLR for April 28, 2010! So far we have 23 people booked and about another 20 who want to book closer to the date.

Maybe I'll see some of you ladies there! We arrive April 23rd and will probably stay for 7-10 days..

Hi Ladies,

Could you please send me all the photos and wedding info (and price lists for specifics like, gazebo decoration, dinners, music, etc) that you may have gotten from the resort or come across in your research? I am waiting on group rates for Dreams La Romana from the TA. I've contacted the WC using the email addy on the Dreams website but haven't heard back yet. Not sweating yet - it's only been a day! But I'd love to get something sooner than later. I guess I'm just too darn excited!

Thanks!!

Hi girls!

I am new to the forum so please excuse me if i mess up this post!

My fiance and i are planning our wedding for April 2010 in DR. We have a tentitive date with Dreams La Romana. The resort looks gorgeous. I LOVE the gazebo! I`m just wondering if anyone can tell me if a 5pm ceremony time is too late in the day. I am worried about pictures following the ceremony and do not want to have them done in the dark. Can anyone share comments?

Thanks!

Go to weather undergound and you can put in your date and find out what time sunset is. my ceremony is at 4:30 as well and the sunsets at 7:00 on May 15. My photographer said that is enough time.

Thanks.
I have not been there but from the resort maps i have seen it is not huge but not small. I think the longest walk you would have would be 10 mins or so.

Hi Dreams LR brides!

Just wanted to vent a little... I had based all of my pricing for my wedding package on the rates I received from Dreams PC because I was having trouble getting the info from the WC at DLR, but she said the packages/prices are the same at all Dreams resorts.

I was a little disappointed when we finally got the pricing from the WC and added up all of the same things... It was approx $500 more and you actually receive less (I'm referring to the private reception dinner and cocktail hour).

The WC's response was that the price difference was because DLR is a better, more luxurious hotel than DPC... but I've never been to either, so I will just have to take her word for it! :s

Are there any new DLR brides out there? There seems to be so few of us!

Hi Girls,

Just wondering if anyone had issues trying to reserve your date and put down the deposit. I have been trying to for over a week now and have gotten nowhere!

I was so frustrated that I called long distance to the resort to find out what was going on since I provided my credit card (front and back copies) and DL already with the forms. I even called my bank the day I submitted the info to the resort to authorize the charge to go through. I was hung up on several times when I called the resort and finally emailed Tiara indicating this. 15 mins after this email, she called me to tell me that she emailed me the day before to let me know that they were having problems with my card and asked if I could submit a different one. (No way I'm submitted another card! And I absolutely did not receive an email from her the day before.) So after a 10 second phone conversation, she said they would try again. I called my bank to make sure the note was on my account and it was, they even told me that the charge, converted to CDN funds, was tried but denied. The bank indicated that the resort probably manually entered in the expiry date backwards or inverted some numbers.

I have not heard from Tiara at all today and am very stressed! I have no confirmation of my date and now they have all my confidential info and are saying it's not going through!

Advice on this situation? Or how to stay calm??

Thanks!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
