I'm paying for their travel (hotel and flights) and for the photos, but the package she gave me is well below her normal rates for weddings in nj. I would just contact a bunch of different photographers and ask how much.

I am getting married in La Romana but at Casa de Campo. They recommended a photographer but the packages were really really expensive. I decided to ask the videographer if he knew any photographers in La Romana and he said his brother is a wedding photographer - gave me a much better deal then the resorts recommendation. If anyone wants to check him out :: Nin Photography :: - his name is David and his brother who is taking my video is Christian and website is Christian Nin Video Studio Funny part is that when I left the wc coordinator know she said "oh great choice the nin brothers are fantastic" - well then why didn't you tell me that from the get go! I had to find them on my own lol.

Hey just a heads up to everyone who was talking about Sunwing. We booked our trip through Air Canada but two people who are coming decided to book on their own through Sunwing and their trip has been cancelled on them. They booked in May and the trip was cancelled in August. They got all of their money back but now they have to re-book through another airline.

Hi Jenny,
Do you know why Sunwing cancelled their trip?? Your wedding is 2 days before we arrive and we're on Sunwing...yikes!!!

I'm not entirely sure why the flight was cancelled. I asked my fiance because it was his brother whose trip was cancelled and he said that they cancelled it because the flight didn't exist anymore. I guess they cancelled certain flights and then whoever was on them got their trip cancelled.

Yeah, I wonder what the TA does when that happens? Do they have to get you another flight for the same price?

FYI, I'm price shopping my trip right now and will let you ladies know if I find an agent that does a good deal. Right now I've found one that is giving us every 12th person free, which is not bad. We calculated it out that it would be $100 off the listed prices. It's a good start!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
