Pam: Thank you! The seller wrote back and offered free beading on the dress, but since I didn't want to risk the chance of getting plastic beads hot-glued on to my dress, I declined the offer. I figured, if I wanted beading later, I could buy some small Swarovski beads and sew them on myself.

 

Mimi73: Oh, that is too funny! Not only that, but our dress #'s are so close, too; 8800 and 8801. Have you received yours yet? If so, how did it turn out?

Ah..nice dress! I have been lurking this thread for a while...from what I saw...as long as your dream dress is simple, or..normal style...most of the chinese folks can replicate it without..any major problem. Of course..the fabric and some details may be off ..from time to time. Not to mention that Pronovias, LaSposa, and San Patrick dresses are all made in China, so I guess some folks may have the real patterns to replicate the dress at 90%+.
However, if your dream dress is a bit complicated..like the Vera Wang Diana dress, then you may reconsider before you order it.

I totally agree with you, which was why I declined their offer on the free beading; I didn't want to take any chances and accept anything that would be even remotely complicated to do. Lol.

I'm really worried about something, though; when I sent the seller my height measurement, I gave the measurement from my shoulder to heels, with shoes on. But, she wrote back and wanted my measurement from my head to my heels, so I gave that to her, too. Now I'm worried that she might somehow get the dress made in the length that goes form my head to heels, instead of shoulder to heals. I'm so scared! I mean, why would a seamstress need to know what my height, starting from the top of my head, is?

I knew the moment I saw the dress at inweddingdress.com that I was in love. Admittedly, though, I was a bit hesitant to order a dress sight unseen (and without trying on ANY dresses), but I knew I could not afford the $1200 price tag from other stores.

 

I took a leap of faith, and I wanna recommend this China seller to everyone ever since! Not only was my dress stunning, their customer service was superb! I received so many compliments on my dress, and even the ladies at the alterations shop kept going on about how gorgeous it was.

I really don't know why, but I guess it is a double check system..to make sure everything is in proportion.

i totally agree with this. the dress i am hoping to order from gianinar is very very simple and i think that will be my saving grace! the more details - the more chances that something won't look right!

The dress turned out quite nice. It fit pretty close to perfect. I am going to get some alterations done, only because I want the dress to fit a bit more 'trumpet-y' than the style is. The lace looks a little different than the photo, but I was expecting that. All in all I would recommend the experience. This dress was from best-love-u on ebay, and I am still waiting for one from Gianninar.

I'm planning on getting fabric swatches from gianinar, taffeta, poly satin, silk satin (if they have it), soft satin, and thin satin since I'm so confused about the fabric. But I also am looking at having my bridesmaid dresses and flower girl dress made by them. The dresses I've seen from Gianinar are amazing, they have surpassed my expectations and I agree, as long as your dress isn't too detail oriented they should be able to do it without a problem. Those of you who ordered from Gianinar did you have any problems with customs, any fees you had to pay to customs? I found my bridesmaid dresses from Landy and they said they didn't cover customs charges which made me wonder how that exactly works, am I suddenly going to receive the dress with some weird fees attached to it?

No, not if you live in America. Americans don't have to pay custom charges when receiving packages from outside of the country. Landy probably told you that for just in case. If you lived in another country, like Canada, for example, you would have to pay the custom charges, based on the value of the product you are receiving.

Thank you! I actually ended up finding the actual dress yesterday and purchased it for $500. It's a Sottero & Midgley so i got it at a steal. I'm very excited and happy to have my Wedding Dress!!
