Has anyone tried to do so? What was the out come?

Hello,

I have not tried to do this but I don't think that you have to. I think that the addtional $18 that you pay per person is to cover that. I haven't heard of anyone needing to rent chairs,

I would also love some reviews from any weddings from the Beach! I am especially curious if people had problems with people watching their wedding, and also if you did not pay for any open bar for your guests and they went and got drinks somewhere else.

Thanks! Also curious if anyone knows how to get ahold of Guy Godfrey? It seems like he is much more reasonable with flowers......and does anyone have pictures of things he did?

Please be aware of Guy Godfrey, there have been so horror stories on this thread. Read through so of the past bride experiences. Though tai Flora is pricey, THEY ARE AMAZING!!!

i have also been looking to rent chairs from the hotel - i don't like chairs with chair covers and sashes, just not my thing.  i have spoken to nicole about this and she told me you can rent chivalri chairs from tai flora.  i have not heard back from tai flora about pricing but read somewhere else that tai flora charged them $8 per chair for chivalri chairs.... i know the hotel doesn't have pretty plain white chairs either (no seat covers) and also asked tai flora if i can get those from them or plain benches for the ceremony.. i want chairs for both my ceremony AND reception - my dad is ok with $8 per chair for one of the events (i'm thinking the reception) but we'll see....

I agree I really like the chivalri chairs too and I think I am going to go that route depending on the amount of people going... I can not justify paying 800 for chairs if we do get 100 people going... I am still waiting to hear back from tai flora about the cost of the nice set up outside port maria.. But I am pretty sure you can use the chivalri chars for the reception and ceremony, because you are still paying for them to set up both places (if you had the chair covers/sashes you would have them at both for no extra cost was my understanding (i think they just move everything over)

As an alternative option, Janielle let me use the wicker chairs chairs that are available throughout the property (but they're mainly at Port Maria).  I hated the look of the covered chairs, but I didn't want to pay $8 to rent a chair.  It looked lovely at the reception, but at the last minute she said I couldn't use them for the beach ceremony (so I had to use the covered chairs).  But if you rent the chairs, you only pay for 1 set and then they relocate them for your reception.

have you heard from tai flora at all?  let me know whatever pricing they give you.. i have emailed them a MILLION times and still no response except from the initial "congratulations on your wedding."  i just want an idea of everything to budget...

after your ceremony, are you having a cocktail hour so they have time to move the chairs/set-up?  we weren't going to have a cocktail hour after the wedding - we were going to do a pre-cocktail wedding cocktail hour, ceremony, reception so i am just thinking when they would be able to move everything over?  leah, do you know if for all weddings they use the same chairs for both ceremony & reception?

I have only gotten the congrats email like 10 times, with 20 questions about what colors you like etc... and no quotes, I like you would like a quote, also so I can figure out if I should bring things or just suck it up and pay their prices. We are doing a cocktail hour after the ceremony, because we want to take pictures after and we dont want our guests to just be sitting around before the reception. But honestly everything is going to depend on how many people come... we keep getting people who are saying that they are coming and it looks like its about 100.. BUT when it really comes down to it I am interested t o see how many people actually book.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
