Iberostar Rose Hall Brides - Post all info/questions here!

Recommended Posts

We booked ours 6 months in advance. We booked in October 2010 for our April 2011 wedding. I think about 5-6 months in advance is about right. It was just enough for us to get an early booking discount - but not too late that the resort wasnt booked up!

Hey Island Bride
I believe the wedding package and all the extra are priced to include the taxes. But if I'm wrong, or you hear elsewise from Nicole, please let me know so I can budget for the additional fees, as well.

I noticed in the wedding package information it mentions that the tax and service charge is included in the price of the wedding.  I couldn't find a reference to tax and service charge in the other packets Nicole sent me, such as private reception, DJ, etc.  Does anyone know if they are included in the prices given or are they additional fees?  I have them in my budget as additional, but figured it is worth checking.

I'm totally e-mailing him thanks much! If it's possible to book earlier I want to do it. I'm scared though that it's because my wedding is in January. I see your wedding is in December so the rates for this year should have been out since last June for you totally giving plenty of time to book rooms and plan. But mine is in January so I think i'm getting screwed out of any possible planning time - - -All the rates for 2012 come out at once (June/July this year) so If my wedding were in December 2012 i'd have pleeeenty of time but it of course is not, it's in the first month so I only have like 6 months to plan. Does that make sense? lol it makes sense in my head but it's hard to project the thought into typing. Hopefully your TA can still work something out early though for me!

That is great to hear PrincessJ about your timing and everything working out.  I'm not going to worry about it... they do so many weddings and seem to sell out throughout the year.  The reviews are so positive, I am sure it will all work out.

Yeah I was told the same thing by my travel agent she's 'working' on the room now. It doesnt' seem like a big deal though to book that late. I was nervous about it at first and obviously i would much prefer more time but the brides on here generally said that's plenty of time so I trust that!

I'm glad I'm not the only one that did that.  I added 10% to the 2011 pricing, hoping that is the maximum it would go up.  I'll keep my fingers crossed it doesn't go up that much.  I also added in a service change and taxes for now until I hear back from Nicole that it is included.  I am hoping that I have padded the totals enough so there are no surprises next summer.

Tina5978, I am thinking about Aunt Ruby's but I am not sure.  I like the menu options there but to be honest I haven't given it as much thought as I should.  My party is small (20 including me and FI) and I want dinner to be like a regular dinner and not a huge reception-like event!

Hi Liz,

How many guests are you planning on having? Are you looking to book a group rate? The rates for Jan 2012 should be out by now. Dates might not be available through the Suites to choose your date yet but if you have rooms locked up I'm sure Nicole woudl pencil you in.

You have plently of time to plan! Let me know if you need help with anything as I've done alot of planning research. I work for a knitwear manufacture and I'm going to have custom tote bags made that say "Montego Bay" with a palm tree on them in black, purple, and green...let me know if your interested. They will be about $5-6 a pc and will be a large over sized tote.

Liz,

You should be able to get quotes from an agent for pricing for January, it just make take them a week or two to get back to you. I booked in January for a December wedding, and I sent out our save the dates in February to coincide with the group travel rate we recieved from our agent. You can make any save the date you want now, then it's ready to go when you get your travel info. We sent out STD  magnets and  included a 5 X 7 card that provided our guests with how to book, travel dates etc. The rest was up to them and our agent! I think we will be sending wedding invitations sometime in July/August ? That's the next task....

Hey Everyone!!

I just got engaged in Vegas last weekend over my 30th birthday!  I have been literally stalking this forum, specifically this thread, for about a year now.  My fiancee and I have been together for 4 years (in a couple days) and have always said we wanted a destination wedding, and being the planner I am, I thought I would get a head start wink.gif.  Am currently on page 140 and hopefully I will get most of my questions answered and not have to stress too much.  I just emailed IRHS and am hoping my date in February 2012 is open!!  Thanks ahead of time for your help and patience!!

Bri

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
