  1. I went with with Misha, and i think her pictures speak for themselves!! Soooooo funny to work with, and great communication. http://mishaearle.myshowit.com/sonia_aslak
  2. Book your own, its a non-issue. You just have to pay a vendor fee of $100..Some photographers pay that fee for you, like Misha Earle http://mishaearle.myshowit.com/sonia_aslak We went with a different photographer and florist, and were Sooooooooooo happy that we did.
  3. Thanks ladies for all the compliments! In the end it all works out. Info: Photos: Misha Earle, with photobooth Flowers: Jamaican Flower Studio Hair +Makeup: Hotel spa
  4. Hey there... re: the fan, they were totally not necessary the day of, but that was because i was a bit unfortunate with the weather. It was borderline about to start pouring rain, so windy and the temp had dropped. So the fans were not needed for the day of the ceremony but that didnt stop people from using them the rest of the trip!
  5. WEEEEEE...my slideshow is finished..THANKS MISHA!!! http://mishaearle.myshowit.com/sonia_aslak
  6. Thanks for the compliment! We ended up being 35 people at the end...we did 2 long table with 18 (ish people at each, and we sat in the middle of one of the tables...we didnt do a seating plan either, just couldnt be bothered!
  7. Can i recommend for you Jamaica Flower studio? They used to have the contract with IBRHS, before they switched to Tai Flora..and i stayed with them due to their amazing communication. Sandra has amazing communication and was really great working within a budget...Something i had originally picked was 100 a piece (EEK) which we were just not able to justify..but we worked together to find something that we really liked for 70 a piece. i would say, try to be flexiable on your flower choices, and try to use local whenever possible to keep the prices down. we used a lot of ginger lily, and antheriums..we also had brought our own rose petals for a petal toss and had extra that we used for the tables... They were so much more beautiful than i could have hoped for! Sorry that i dont have pics of the actual centerpiece but here is one to give you the idea of the colours and flower type we used... ALSO, Jamaica Flower Studio honoured the flower agreement from ibrhs re: bouquet, boutinear blah blah blah AND, we didnt have to pay a vendor fee. Sorry for pic size..dont know how to make it smaller...
  8. Let her rock your world... ok that is horrible cheezy, but i just couldn't be happier with my photographer choice. I did a lot of lurking on people's reviews and portfolios of various photographers in Jamaica, and I stand by my decision today. Yes, there are photographers who are less expensive... Yes, there are photographers who give you no time limits... but more importantly, YES this is one of the most important days of your lives. My time with Misha, and this includes the emails leading up to the wedding was amazing. I really do feel that we got to know each other as people, and that made the time in front of the camera that much more comfortable. On the day of the wedding, in the hotel room, she was more like a good friend, who happens to have a great camera and silent lighting guy, than just another vendor. And that is exactly what i needed.... i have included one picture, and its huge due to the fact that i dont know how to resize, so please be patient. Check her out. www.mishaearlephotography.com For those of you who havent made decisions yet about photographers, I think she still has dates for Sept, Oct...so do yourself a favor and just ask! i wish everyone here great luck on their wedding days.

  10. Although I have not been much of a poster, i have been an avid lurker of the bdw site. I was married at the suites on July 26th of this year, and it was amazing. What i am especially looking forward to is getting pictures back from our photographer. After looking at the portfolios and price lists of many different photographers we went with Misha Earle, and could not be happier with her work. Many people in our wedding party and interested in varying degrees of photography and were impressed with her fun professionalism and picture setups. If you are still looking for a photographer, please please PLEASE go take a look. She is worth the bit extra money. As for dindin...Calabash was fab, great food that even the foodies were happy with. We paid extra for wine, so it would not be the house stuff which i think complemented the meals perfectly. We didnt privatize the Calabash so we had the 800 to play around with. Because of the way we laid out the tables, in two rows, and where they positioned us, we didnt see any of the other guests. Perfect. I could give a formal review, but i do feel that they get a bit repetitive.. we all know its a great place, that is why we chose it! ohhh, one thing i did that seems different than other brides: i went with the bridal package from the spa- $300. first off, i think it was one of the better facials i have ever had, and the pricing for that is over $100 in itself, so once you add a manipedi, hair and makeup on it...it all is quite reasonable.. my hair (without a test) turned out better than i could have imagined, and did not move in the high winds...i went with all up, and am very happy that i did. makeup, i thought was a bit on the heavy side..but then it started to settle in to the skin and was perfect. sadly i had a little bit of a tear fest in the room when my sister was adjusting one of my earrings (all of those happy bridal moments), and i kinda smeared my make up...makeup team met me at the beach to repair...Love them. me thinks..thats it..
