White Christmas in the Northeast?

The big snow storm is headed our way....5-8" of snow mixed in with some sleet. How is everyone preparing and what do you plan to do once all the snow comes? I'm actually about to head to work where they will probably keep me captive until the very last minute!! No one cares about our safety when its treacherous outside, they just want to continue business as usual. Hopefully they will let us out a little early but I'm not holding my breath!!!

Afterwards when I get home and if its not too dark out, I will take my daughter outside to play in the snow, which she loves. But I love nothing more than staying in watching movies with my DH while I watch the snow fall through our window. I love winter!! I dont like shoveling but thats a different story...LOL

We are pretty much home bound right now. I live in NW Ohio and we have about 1/4 inch of ice covering everything. I really don't mind except our groceries are low but I will throw something together. We are really lucky right now cause half our town is without power! I am have been making sure i am getting everything done this morning that I need the electric for just incase!!! We'll prolly spend the rest of the day sitting around watching movies or playing Electronic Monopoly.

Once I heard about the weather I made the decision to work from home today. So I will fire up the laptop and then power down later and get some chores done. I got up at 6 am to get some groceries from Shoprite, so given that it will be a snuggly evening.

I am on a strict diet so there goes the movies and a snack idea sad.gif.

We've had about a foot of snow on the ground for a few weeks now, with the big loads being dumped last Tuesday (Dec 9) and this past Tuesday night/Wednesday morning.

There have been weather warnings for the past two days, but it's looking like the worst of it may be missing us.

Keep warm and safe everyone, it's so not fun trying to get around with all that slippery stuff.

I think we are ready.... The storm is supposed to reach us in the next few hrs and then follow through the night into tomorrow afternoon... they are saying anywhere from 12 to 18 inches of snow for my neck of the woods. With the Ice Storm we had lastweek and no power till Tuesday ... the generator is up and ready to be turned on.. food is the best is can be since everything we bad from the last storm. The first part is super fluffy and then the tail end is slush/ice junk... not looking forward to it... espec with the devistation from lastweel... Let's all hope we will be ok!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
