Diva, that's what I wanted, we originally planned our wedding for our dating anniversary (which is also when we became engaged), but our first affordable choice was by my college and our anniversary is in october/homecoming and it would be difficult to get rooms, and then it was a destination wedding, and October is hurricane season, and I may be a teacher by then. So summer it is. Your preversary sounds fun! I always wanted to go there. You july girls are a month after mine and you are already sending save the dates? Am I behind? I thought when we do our site visit this year in June, we will take some engagement shots and send those out as save the dates. About a year in advance. We can't even book until 330 days before, so I figured it would be enough time. How are u girls getting to book in April for summer 2011? Flights don't book until 330 days, and I thought hotels are the same.

Hi All! I just booked my resort .... finally after much research and investigation on this site. Now it's like I don't know what I should be doing or doing first. Yikes!!!! I won't be doing save the dates until we start booking with a TA and the prices wont be available till some time at the end of May I was told. So the STD's are on hold for now.

I have booked my date and everything with the resort, because we really wanted a certain date. Your not behind with the save the dates. A lot of ppl that are hopefully going to attend my wedding have children or are getting married this summer, and we just wanted to give them more a less a heads up about it. allowing them enough time to save and plan themselves. we just stated on our save the dates that a formal invite would follow.

As for booking flights ect. we have talk to a TA and found out what days our flights would fly out, more than likely will have a flight no problem. In the save the dates we attatched a letter from my FI and I explaing the costs and gave them a range price. To allow them to budget.

I think sending out your save the dates is really up to you and when u think a enough time for your guests is.......just to give them a heads up.

I agree with Ashley about the std's - the sooner the better to help guests prepare of the travel costs, most of my guests already know about the wedding, but in September I am going to send out the STD just more out of formality, then a formal invite in the new year.

Ashley did you book your hotel room already with the resort or just the wedding. I am planning on booking the hotel and flight as a package, I did the math and it was a little cheaper this way for my resort.

sunstarsmoon - i havent booked my room yet. all i have done is booked my wedding package along with where i want the dinner to be. i had to put a 10% deposit down on the package. once u do that, they will hold your date you want.

i will be booking the room/flight come after xmas.

Ashley , my colours are orange and choc brown, have already got the guys clothes, choc brown linen shirts and beige linen pants with dark brown leather sandals, we bought them at Old Navy last year. Have not got the girls yet going in October for that but have been looking online forever. I have been thinking about adding a flash of pink in the bouquets. As far as centre pieces I am not doing anything. I will be upgrading my arch on the beach since the standard one at Couples I do not like, it comes with extra flowers so I will be using them on the table. I have been buying like crazy the past month lol. I have my sand ceremony set, started buying stuff for oot bags, have garter, varies printed matter from vista print, pashmina's and looking into personalized golf balls for the guys.

What about you have you picked your colours etc.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
