Just read your review. Thanks for all the insight. I'm really looking forward to working with the photography on-site but they are pricey!

Hi girls - I haven't gotten around to posting a review or anything yet.  We got married May 30th.  Oceana beach ceremony and Las Palmas reception.  We had 32 people total and the space was perfect.  The whole wedding was perfect.  I can't imagine getting married anywhere else. This thread was so helpful! Here's a pic of the reception and the ceremony. We used The Dazzling Details and they were amazing.  Dreams was the perfect place.

So, Fatima contacted me yesterday to ask if everything was correct on my contract. She sent me a new copy, but I had already done one with Esman. Apparently, bonfires are now $600!!! Also, all of the prices I had sorted out and that were on my old contract were new and higher. I politely sent her an email back with a copy of the email Esman and I had discussing prices and a copy of the contract he sent me. I also addressed the bonfire. I think it is a great idea and was still for it when I was told $400, but I'm not paying $600 to burn some wood! Hopefully she gets back to me in a reasonable amount of time and makes these corrections.

$600! That's ridiculous. We were married this past January (6 months ago) and we paid either $300 or $350 for the bonfire (I can't recall the price exactly, but it was for sure no more than $350). This price was worth it, but $600 would not be in my opinion. Their prices have really gotten out of hand.

She should be able to honor the prices Esman gave you. I actually just had that problem since prices for everything have went up from what I was originally quoted and she honored everything. Btw, I'm paying $300 for the bonfire and my wedding isn't until November. Hope that helps!

She was really good about going back and changing all of the prices for me. My bonfire is $400 because I have 68 people and waitstaff/alcohol. She was super responsive and quick. Let's hope it stays that way......no I just need a way to control the weather down there and my wedding is ready to go! woot2.gif

I think it is 15%, or at least that is what I was originally quoted but I guess we should both check with Fatima since prices keep changing for everything.

Hello Ladies,

I will be getting married at the DPV in November, and i am trying to figure out pricing, i cant justify paying for the wedding package that inc. 20 guest and then paying 65usd. pp for the extra people, as we have 30+ guest who will be attending im sure after all is said and done, i will end up paying over $3000 just on that, before any taxes are added, anyways, my concern is- with the free package i am sure we will not get above and beyond treatment, and that is fine, my sister in law to be is doing her wedding planner course here in canada and is going to help me arrange all the little details that i will buy here at home and bring there to dress it up, or buy in mexico, however im concerned about the free package not including enough chairs for all guest- do we have to pay extra if there are extra guest just for seating for the ceremony? and has anyone else done the free package? What did/are you doing for dinner if you have the free package? I know i must seem really cheap but the fiance and i are trying to organize going to jamaica for a week directly from mexico and need to work that into the buget. as well as all our guest are extremely laid back, we dont care if everything is set up and organized to the T for us... thats what mothers are for, or at least thats what she says. :P

anyone get the free package have any pictures of what to expect the ceremony to look like without paying for extras? What you did to dress it up( if it was needed at all?)

YOUR HELP WOULD BE AMAZING LADIES...

Thank you!

Bailey

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
