DREAMS PUERTO VALLARTA "thread"

Recommended Posts

Chritheel is very nice.  I worked with her on my order, but Simon was my actual photographer and he did a great job.  Everything I have seen from their work has been great so I woudn't worry too much.  Just make sure when you set up your timeline you are very clear because if you want the great shots with sunset and everything then it will take time.  I would work with them when setting up your timeline.  They are on site all the time so it is never hard to find any of them.

I can not tell you about the mexican options we had the ultimate package and were able to choose from the gold menu for cocktail and dinner and the food was fantastic.  We had the grilled veges with cheese/cheese soup/ and a choice of fish vizcaina style or steak and chicken in black pepper and bone marrow sauce.  All of my guests were very impressed.  I would stress too much about the food their chefs are amazing, and will prepare almost anything you want but take a look at their already prepared menu options everything was so wonderful!

Did you talk to the photography company included before arriving? Does anyone have their contact info? I just assumed we figured it out when we got there...

Here are the list of Mexican main course items that Rebeca gave us last year and I had Louise honour:

Salads:

  • CACTUS SALAD WITH CHEESE
  • GREEN SALAD WITH BELL PEPPERS, MUSHROOMS, CORN AND FRIED TORTILLA ON SLICES

Creams & Soups:

  • POBLANA CREAM
  • MELTED CHEESE WITH CHORIZO

Main Courses:

  • GRILLED ARRACHERA DRESSED ON A GUAJILLO SAUCE SERVED ON BLACK BEANS BEAD AND A CORN ON A SIDE
  • POBLANO CHILLI STUFFED WITH CHEESE WITH A TOMATO SAUCE AND RICE WITH CORN TORTILLAS
  • FISH FILLET VERACRUZANA STYLE (TOMATO, VEGETABLES AND ONIONS)

Desserts:

  • CAJETA (candy milk) FLAN
  • CAJETA CREPES
  • A mini bar with Mexican candies

The options we chose were (made 2 menus)...the ones I personally tried have a ** beside them:

  • GREEN SALAD WITH BELL PEPPERS, MUSHROOMS, CORN AND FRIED TORTILLA ON SLICES
  • POBLANA CREAM
  • MELTED CHEESE WITH CHORIZO ** (comes with small corn tortillas)
  • GRILLED ARRACHERA DRESSED ON A GUAJILLO SAUCE SERVED ON BLACK BEANS BEAD AND A CORN ON A SIDE ** (my husband's choice, but I tried and it was good)
  • POBLANO CHILLI STUFFED WITH CHEESE WITH A TOMATO SAUCE AND RICE WITH CORN TORTILLAS ** (my main course)
  • CAJETA CREPES (caramel crapes) ** (I had picked the strawberry mouse on the Golden menu, but again I tried the crapes and they were good...quite sweet, but tasty)

The Mexican appies we were as follows (I these on this forum as Mexican options were not willingly supplied....weird considering it was to take place in MEXICO.... go figure wacko.gif)... again the ones with the ** are the options we chose and all were really good!

Ceviche in chalupa **

Guacamole and salsa with totopos **

Tostadas of beef Salpicón

Panela cheese in chipotle sauce

Chile stuffed with tuna salad

Acapulco shrimp ceviche on tartlets **

Mini tamales

Mini tacos dorados

Chicken and cheese turnovers

Sopes with Mexican sausage **

Chile popper **

Then we chose the Boursin cheese canape from the regular options (and this was very good).

Sarah,

Yes, they actually saw an earlier post from me re: photo's and told me to contact them.  They have been great.  They gave me samples of each photographer and their work.  I was able to choose my photographer as well.  You can also book an extra photographer for $99 per hour.  Not too bad if you have the money.  If you want to purchase more photo's they also do that. I asked if I could pick my photo's from all that they took and they said yes..I think the next day you can meet with them.  Here is their email:  [email protected]

Thank you so much Dreams!!! This is what I have been looking for.  It will help me choose my options.  And yes I agree..kinda weird that they aren't forthcoming on their mexican menu since it is in Mexico!!! ;)

I was thinking of those options as well but was a little worried about the bone marrow sauce.  Can you describe it??

Hey past brides,

Did anyone stay in the old tower in a Deluxe room with the french balcony ( rooms with NO balcony basically just a window that opens) with kids? On dreams website under room categories is says that the Deluxe Ocean View room is located on an adults only floor??? Is this true???? Our group rate is for this room category, confused if kids are allowed or not?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
