We will be sending STD to family we know can't afford/won't be able to come but whom we don't want to leave out. I want to add a short paragraph or 2 on our STD's that says:

- please don't feel obligated and don't feel bad if you can't come

- We are waiting to have the reception until we get home for those who can't come to the wedding.

I know other girls have put this on theirs. Any wording help? Thanks, Carla :)

We put a letter with our STD...this is from it...

" We appreciate gifts but really want you to know that just your presence in Cancun for our wedding IS the present itself!!

We don’t want anyone to feel obligated to attend or to feel like we are putting pressure on them. We know that some people won’t be able to make it and we really do understand."

This is what we said on one of our boarding passes... "Dear Family & Friends, while we both would love for all of your and your families to attend, your attendence certainly is not expected. We hope that you are as excited as we are about this special event. We look forward to celebrating this occasioin in a beautiful destination and having a vacation to remember with all of you! Upon our return from Mexico we are planning on having a reception in Denver, date TBA."

We worded things the following way....

Though we would LOVE to have each and every one of you join us on our special day, we realize that not everyone will be able to make the trip to {Jamaica}. We are planning a reception in {Omaha} upon our return to continue the celebration. Details will follow.

We said something very similar to that, but we put ours on our wedding site and just had the sites address on our STD.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
