It is the mutual commitment of two people sincerely in love who share the same dreams about life. But more than that, it is the intimate sharing of two lives. It is a sharing that does not diminish but enhances the individuality of each partner. The marriage between XXX and XXX does not mark the beginning of a new relationship; rather, it is an acknowledgement and celebration, of a relationship that has been flourishing since they met. Here is my script...it was AWESOME!!!

 

I thought that I would only cry during the hands ceremony part...but I started crying when I was saying my vows. Make that I cried the whole way through them, and then I only cried at the very end of the hands ceremony poem. Nevertheless, it was great!

These are absolutely beautiful!!

 

Does anyone have any suggestions for incorporating our children into the ceremony? I have a daughter and my fiance has 2 sons and we are planning to give them rings as a symbol of our love as a family...and that we are all united through this marriage. I am hoping that the minister will give us a minute or two in order to say something to our children...but I'm not positive on what we should say or how to word it. Any suggestions?

Sand Ceremony

Today, this relationship is symbolized through the pouring of these two individual containers of sand one, representing you Toni and all that you were, all that you are, and all that you will ever be, and the other representing you, Darren, and all that you were and all that you are, and all that you will ever be. As these two containers of sand are poured into the third container, the individual containers of sand will no longer exist, but will be joined together as one. Just as these grains of sand can never be separated and poured again into the individual containers, so will your marriage be."

Darren and Toni, remember to treat both yourself and each other with respect, and remind yourselves often of what brought you together. I've been thinking about this too, but don't have any ideas yet. I have a son from a previous relationship and I know we can incorporate him into the sand ceremony if we have one, but was just trying to think of other options as well. Would love to hear what other people have done....
