Gran Bahia Principe Akumal/Tulum/Coba - POST HERE!

Recommended Posts

I am confused on the prices for the poolside reception?

Also, we are planning to book our trip this weekend to the Gran Bahia for our wedding.... We plan to book it for August 2014.

We are thinking of having our wedding on august 1, august 6, or august 8.... However, we are not sure when is the best time to book our during the month of August due to heat and rain.... Is it better that we book it at the early, middle, or end of the month for August 2014?

Thank you :)

Sincerely,

Kat
I am actually waiting on my planner to get back to me because she sent me a list breaking down all the costs which is per person per hr. which was outrageous, then she sent me the options for JUST the bar which is either $1400 or $3800. If you decide to eat your dinner poolside then you have to pay per person and ur only options that i could see were 5 course menus ranging from $60-75 per person! And then on top of that you have ur bar.. Our plan is to see if there is a bar close by where our guests can just walk to cause its free anyways why should we pay $3800! Its crazy! Unless the bar is far which i wouldnt doubt cause thats how they make there money, then well try to negotiate the bar price cause we dont care about the DJ. There has been ppl say the DJ is included in the package price for the bar which is $3800 plus lighting and set up. Basically its going to cost you regardless just depends on the option you choose.

thank you.

We plan to have bout 50 people? Our plan is to marry at the gazeo (unforgettable package), do dinner at the restaurant, and have a poolside reception with bar, dancing, and DJ. How many people does the 3,800 cover?

We also plan to do live music for the ceremony, as well as possibly live music for 45 minutes during dinner.

That sounds like our idea! We also have 50 people going, that package has a max of 50 and then u have to pay per person per hour afterwards.

We are also doing the exact same - gazebo, restaurant dinner, poolside reception but with no dj. We are going one week after you - march 8-15, 2014. We are also flying down our photographer who is amazing! It will be interesting to see what prices they give us. Seems like there isn't a lot of consistency or maybe I'm just reading too many different posts. We have about 60 people going, so hopefully it doesn't get too $$. The whole reason we decided to go south was to save money! Lol

Hmmm. I have 60 ppl and am paying $3100!fir full bar, lighting, decoration and DJ. So why would you be quoted so much more for fewer people? The rates must have gone waaaay up
Noo idea were getting married in May so who know, im not paying $3800 regardless lol ill negotiate my butt off if I have too cause this is an all inclusive so why should we pay that much!

Hi Ladies if you are having the meal at one of the restaurants and just having a pool side reception for 3hrs it should just be around 600 the lower end bar or about a 1000 for top end bar. Then If you have a dj thats extra I have paid my deposit for dj bob already so this better not have changed again. He is 500 for the 3 hrs so I am looking at about a 1000 for the standard bar decorations and dj for pool sde reception 3hrs after dinner. I was quoted this about 2mths ago so surely it hasnt got up that much

Where did you get those prices??? That's the first I've heard of these prices you just quoted. Does the DJ have a website? How did u get a hold of him? Does he also have the light up dance floor? Can u send me pool side & DJ pricing info plz?ðŸ˜ðŸ‘ [email protected]

We plan to have dinner at the restaurant and poolside reception with DJ following...

I received an email from the wedding coordinator that it was $120 an hour to rent out the poolside for dancing reception. Then the other costs are added - such as DJ (190/hr), bar, etc...

They also gave me the option of renting out a hall for 120 an hour? did anyone else get these prices?

I'm just wondering where all you ladies got these quotes from? Are these from your own private coordinator or travel agent, or have you received quotes via email from the WC at the resort? Because our wedding is before yours (Jan '14) and Eugenia hasn't given us any pricing yet, as the last time we talked to her she said she didn't have the updated pricing for 2014 yet.... Just curious confused.gif

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
