Oh yes, club golden has amazing beach views!!! That's where I stayed or my wedding. It's also super close to the pools and 24 hour buffet. And yes, just tell the coordinator about the vegetarians and they'll provide a different meal.

Hi ladies,

We are having our reception at the Hibiscus pool - was told by the resort that it's the most private of the pools in Coba - I really want to bring paper lanterns but have no idea how the space is laid out and not sure if they will work.

Do any of you (past brides) have any pictures you can share of that specific pool area and/or any other pools you can recommend?

Thanks so much!

Anna

Hello,

We are getting married on October 17 2013 at the Coba resort and have booked DJ Bob as our DJ. I am not sure if I am interpreting the email correctly, but I have just received an email from Maria indicating that DJ Bob was authorized as an external supplier; however, the policy has changed and no external suppliers are allowed in. I was wondering if anyone that has him booked has received the same information or if anyone is aware of anything regarding. This is nerve-wracking to find out a month and a half before the wedding so any info would be greatly appreciated :-)

Hi ladies,

I have posted yesterday, but for some reason my comment would not show up, so thought I would try again.

As many others getting married here, we have booked DJ Bob for our upcoming wedding on October 17, 2013. Maria had instructed us to book him as he was the only DJ allowed into the resort; however, I had just received an email from her yesterday stating that the resort policies have changed and currently, there are no external suppliers allowed in, including DJ Bob. I am stressing as we have already paid and also it's only a month and a half away from our wedding, so we are stumped how this can be changed once it was already approved and what we are supposed to do during our 5 hour dinner and reception ( we had booked him for the whole time since we are having a private poolside dinner/reception). I wanted to see if any other brides were relayed this information and are aware of this! We are waiting for her reply in the meantime as well. Thanks in advance :-)

Hi Yelena,

I was worried about this to as we have already paid our deposit for dj bob our wedding is April2nd and the other day I received an email from the coordinator aswell saying things are going to change as far as external djs, photographers etc etc. This really upsets me as the past reviews were all positive about him so we was looking forward to it. Have you contacted dj Bob will you get all your money back then? I really hope so this seems very unfair so close to your day.

I booked DJ Bob as well for my mid November wedding, and I havent heard anything from the resort to tell me that he is not allowed on the resort. If they haven't mentioned anything to me, and I have an email from the resort confirming that he is fine, then I'm going to b*tch the crap out of the resort until I get my way.

I was finally able to get an update on DJ Bob. I had forwarded Maria all the emails where she had stated to book DJ Bob, with the latest one being three weeks ago, and after not receiving a response I had decided just to call the resort. Maria was in a meeting but I was able to speak with one of the other co-ordinators. They were trying to stick with the the fact that policy had simply changed and there was nothing that they could, at which point I raised a huge stink about it. DJ Bob also actually went to the resort that day to see what he could do and had spoken to Paloma. I received an email tonight stating they will honour my bookings, but DJ Bob did tell me that they are letting him only perform at the weddings that he had booked for this year. For next year, they have asked him to write an e-mail to the GM asking for an exception so for the brides that have him booked for 2014, definitely follow up with the resort now!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
