Having more than 3 children is considered too many by America's modern standards and 18 is crazy. As seen in some of the post above - people consider is so odd. Not to many people will support them - but we are glad its not us!

smile29.gif Thank goodness!

I have 18 preschoolers and everyone in my classroom has a job every day and it works. I think thats great that she implements jobs or else she would be on 911 nanny! lol Those kids would be out of control. I honestly think that homeschooling may not be the best for them. I hope that when they grow up they aren't afraid of going out in the world and wont end up back in their same home town clinging onto their siblings and having a crazy amount of kids themselves!

Do they have a few nannys? Geez Im contemplating a Nanny for kid/kids I dont have (shhhh dont tell FI) I would have to have at least 2 with 18 kids.

And as far as college I dont plan on paying for my kids college - Am I wrong??

No, there is no right or wrong. I have told my children I will match what they save for university. My children have to put 60% of any money that they receive away to save, this includes baby sitting money, money for doing chores over and above what is expected of them (I don't believe in allowance), and Christmas money. I let them keep 100% of their birthday money:) When they get a part time job this system will still apply. I also expect my children to work hard to maintain their marks and hopefully scholarships will come into play for them. I will also pay for all of their books, I will do what I can to help them but I think they will work harder if they have a stake in the investment of their education, I have heard too many stories of 1st year students partying away their university days, that will not be my child or they are on their own.

Oh and as the mother of 5, I applaud this woman, she is a far better mother then many I know who only have 1 or 2 kids. I however still thinks she's nut's, who wants to be pregnant 18 flipp'n times! Four times was more then enough for me, my poor body never fully recovered (that's my story it's the children's fault I am all soft and jiggly, not he lack of exercise or the warm loaves of sour dough bread I like to indulge in) from the agonizing joy of pregnancy:)

she has had to find a dr that is willing to deliver her anymore because she has had a few c-sections and while they do seem really well adjusted I think enough is enough right, I mean wow that is crazy. I am hating just having one and I really don't know if I will want to do this again

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
