    Your not alone. Believe me. I have battled with anxiety for many years but I do a lot of self-talk and try to calm myself by thinking about why certain things are stressing me out and how to alleviate the stress. The gym really helps (I hate working out too). Also, make sure you are getting plenty of sleep and water and avoid caffeine. If you need meds for a couple of weeks to help you cope you should talk to your doctor. Everything will work out Amanda and you are going to have a wonderful wedding with those that you love. The only thing you should focus on now is what you are going to do first on your honeymoon.

        I too have thoughts like that, I hate thinking like this. FI and I went to a comedy show last month and we were all the way up in the mezzanine (sp?) and for the first hour all I kept thinking about was "what if this things falls, there are so many people sitting here and what if we're all too heavy and it cant support everyone anymore, it would be a freak accident"...it was just weird, I started to get nervous. I didnt share this with FI but luckily he had just bought me a drink and it really took the edge off. lol

          You can always try some CBT techniques. Ask yourself what is the evidence for the concern. If we look at plane crashes, the statistic for dying on an airplane is 1 in 10.46 million. Very small odds. This gives your logical brain some ammo. Next, try relaxation techniques such as yoga, deep breathing, or guided imagery. As you start to relax, pick a mantra, a word or phrase that calms you and makes you feel good. As you breathe deeply in through your nose, repeat this word to yourself for a count of three. Exhale through your mouth and repeat. You should calm down and with daily practice, you should be able to chase the negative thoughts away when they first enter your mind. Use your logic and then your relaxation.

            I have a constant fear something will happen to my dad before we leave. I don't know why I think this, but I worry about it constantly. I won't breathe easy until we are all on Maui enjoying the wedding/vacation!

              I'm totally with you girls too..... I try REALLY hard not to think like that but sometimes it slips in....

                I soooooo understand you! I have anxiety really bad and thoughts like that creep into my head often. For example, I have a really weird fear of falling down the stairs. I'll just be talking to my FI and all of a sudden I'll imagine myself plummeting down our stairs... I can't even begin to imagine what I'm going to be like in the weeks before my wedding (I will have a TON of stairs to walk down at Las Caletas!!!). I've got to get this under control before then...

                  I have OCD & Anxiety & wedding planning really increased my problems with it. That & some unrelated stress last fall. I started spending a lot of effort working on getting it under control & I feel amazing now. I also started taking zoloft. Certain OCDs I just couldn't get under control (like thiking I left the stove on). I feel the best I have ever felt in my life now. The biggest improvement has been in my ability to drive without thinking about crashing the whole time. Anxiety can really wear on you. I didn't even realize how difficult it was until I now know what it feels like to not be overly anxious.

                    I have the same fear when flying. I only get anxiety attacks when I'm on a plane.. my palms get sweaty, my heart starts to beat out of my chest and the littlest turbulance makes me hold on for dear live. But you know what helps - Xanax! hehe That or Dramamine DROWSY. I'm good when I'm knocked out :)

                      i am not so worried about myself flying, it is more about everyone else!
                      My favorite type of vacation, a relaxing one!
