ROYAL PLAYA DEL CARMEN BRIDES: were kids allowed for the day? ...and other questions

Recommended Posts

yes, it seems very odd, especially since they'll be sending you a contract with that information outlined. I also booked for May 2012 just this past weekend and was able to reserve both the gazebo for the wedding and the beach for the reception. I initially thought it may be a reference to their a la carte website not yet being updated for 2012, but the sole location it shows online as available is the beach.

definitely something to investigate. please let us know how it turns out.

My girls bouquets, makeup, photo, ceremony decoration, video

Fellow brides and brides to be, please let me know if I am missing anything.

Hey Ladies - I just ordered my favors and placecard holders yesterday. (I know so last minute!) I thought I would share. Fyi.. The weddingchannel store is having a GREAT sale on matchbooks.  You can also find coupons for them at retailmenot.com.  You may have to try a few codes to find out which works, but I saved 15% off my order!!! woot2.gif

Thanks Lisa, I would really appreciated seeing some pics from the resort photographer, it just seems that so many have used others so I was unsure if I needed to reserve an outside vendor.

slin2011 - I booked my ceremony at the gazebo and the beach for my reception, and it wasn't a problem at all mine is set for 06/30/2012.

Rissa -

If you search for Lady Di, she has pics from the resort photographer as well. I think most people used the resort photog bc it was in their package and since it's part of the cost - might as well. But most everyone is using or bringing their own.

If you book a room for your outside photog you can get away with not having to pay the vendor fee. Also - if you make them part of your wedding guest list - you can avoid the vendor fee as well. I do believe that if they're a guest they need to have a room booked.

I called to book the date and am working with Maritza Guzman.  I told her that I wanted to book the beach reception and she said OK...but now looking at the receipt that was sent to me for the deposit, it only specifies the reception venue.  There's no mention of a beach reception...I'm so confused.  And...Maritza is on vacation until March 1.  Boo.  So did everyone get a contract after they made their initial deposit?  All I got was a receipt of payment and I was asked to complete a form with our personal info (ie name, dob, etc).  Is anyone else working with Maritza?

Hi all,

I'm curious about how people booked a room for their photographer...from what I'm seeing, the cost of a room for one night is almost as much as the outside vendor fee anyway.  Also, if we were to book him at the Gran Porto, would that still help us avoid the vendor fee?  Finally, how did people confirm that the fee would be waived if the outside vendor were a guest?

I'm also a little concerned about bringing decorations through customs...I haven't been saving my receipts!  Would printed email confirmations suffice?

Wow, I am definitely a last-minute kind of girl.  2.5 months to go, still haven't done much of anything!  Next steps: contact the florist, ask some questions of the photographer, finalize the menu and cake (hoping I can get the Tres Leche!), and start preparing myself for a crazy bachelorette party :)

Thanks!
Jen

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
