Wouldn't it be great if we could all lose 10 pounds every week?
I would LOVE it if we could all lose 10 pounds every week, that would really make dieting so much easier, lol!

I know, its crazy! I would love for it to be big losses every week like this, but usually my first week is always big and then it settles down.

BTW Kash, you had a great loss this week too! I know you thought you didn't do well and it seems like you had a really great week!

Thanks, Jilly! I have to admit that after all the crappy food I ended up eating this past weekend I couldn't believe I lost any weight at all! Now I have another "food challenging" 5 days ahead - yikes!

Any advice is appreciated!:

Tonight - wine and food with girlfriends (I'm going to try and save up my WW points all day by eating veggies, etc. Then stuff myself with healthy foods before I go... and try and bring a few healthy foods to eat... I'll let you know how it goes!)

Tomorrow night - Italian food at a favorite restaurant with friends who are in from out of town! Fun but super dangerous! I haven't figured out my defense plan yet...

This weekend - Wine tasting and a delicious dinner in wine country (Santa Ynez)! OK, this is where I'm giving myself permission to use my extra 35 W flex points - cause it's worth it!

So how do I get through tonight and tomorrow without totally blowing it? smile105.gif

in general, some tips I know to help when faced with a big meal ...

1) drink water - lots of it! it fills you up and keeps your hands full

2) if you can, eat a healthy snack before going out to eat - you won't be as hungry or as tempted

3) eat SLOW ... i am the fastest eater, and you end up eating more than you need to. give yourself some time to feel full. like maybe try to put your fork down between each bite. or do something else to distract yourself.

Kash

I just posted to you in the WW thread, but I'll post again here too

Since you don't know what the food is tonight that they're ordering, it's tough, but maybe once you see what they have you can either go with the healthy low point choices, or just have a small taste of a few things, just a taste not to fill up.

Maybe just have one glass of wine, drink it slow and savor it, then switch to water.

Tomorrow, ugh, Italian food is so hard to do healthy!! Maybe you can get something with lots of veggies, and maybe they'll have wheat pasta. If you do order pasta box up at least half for leftovers so that you don't eat it. And try to just do one or two glasses of wine. Stay low on points tomorrow so that you have a lot left for dinner, but not so low that you're starving when you get there and binge. Maybe eat some veggies or something right before you get to the restaurant to fill you up a bit, don't go there starving!

Over the weekend, enjoy yourself, don't go crazy, but allow yourself to eat something enjoyable.

You did really well this week!

Thanks ladies! Italian is SO hard! For me the only thing worse is mexican! I tried to say, "let's go to sushi" but got shot down sad.gif

Anyway I just remembered that the Italian restaurant I'm going to tomorrow has "make your own pasta" dishes where you can select wheat pasta, no extra oil, extra veggies etc... it's so hard though!

Ok Kash here is my advice. With regards to the italian restaurant I would order a salad with dressing on the side. Try to get something less fattening like oil & vinegar. Do not get a cesar salad or salads with add ons like grilled chicken and stuff. Drink lot of water, avoid the bread and chomp on that mixed green salad. Then order a fish meal like grilled salmon. They almost always have a fish dish. Oh wait, never mind I just remebered you are a vegetarian. Hmmm this can be tough.

Okay then can you get a big salad as your main meal? And order a side order of steamed veggies? Like a big side order? I'm sure they will do this for you, italian restaurants are very accomodating.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
