  1. Where did you get those? I love them! Fingers crossed I can order them online.
  2. Yes, a symbolic ceremony is cheaper than a legal one in Mexico! By about $1000 where we are getting married. I didn't know it was an option either until I started researching I'm getting married April 2016!
  3. ^^ Are you doing a symoblic ceremony or a legal ceremony? Symoblic requires 2 business days, legal requires 4 (for paper work and what not) We are just doing symoblic, as we want to avoid all the paper work and blood tests required in Mexico. We will get legally married in Canada.
  4. Definitely yay! My niece and nephew are both going to be in our wedding, they're both toddlers. They're so cute and do/say the funniest things! Great pictures
  5. I know I'm a little late to this, but I'm experiencing the exact same thing. My (former) best friend has barely acknowledged my engagement or shown any interest in my wedding. She's in an unhealthy relationship and deep down, I know she isn't happy. They've been together 3 years and haven't said I love you yet, his family doesn't know about her, he gets mad when the talk of marriage or kids comes up, etc. She's 3 years older than me, so I guess even though she's in an unhealthy relationship, she should still be getting married first? I texted her Christmas morning, showing her a picture of my ring and al she said was "Wow...congrats" EVERYTHING I post on Facebook, she ignores, when we do still occasionally talk, any time the wedding comes up, she'll quickly change the subject. A handful of our friends are also engaged and getting married and she'll talk about THEIR weddings, show excitement for them, etc but is totally cold to me about my engagement and wedding. It's extremely hurtful and disappointing. I thought she was my best friend. Even if she clearly has her own issues to deal with, she could still try to be happy for me. It's not my fault she's in an unhealthy relationship and not happy. I'm really hurt and sad that she can't share in my excitement and purposely avoids talking to me or acknowledging my wedding or engagement, but I'm trying to tell myself, it's her issue at the end of the day. Everyone else is happy for us and excited, and as long as I'm happy, that's all that matters.
  6. Yup I agree!! I was happy with my spray tan and it was fine on my vacation to Cuba, but I suppose a wedding isn't the time to chance things - especially with a white dress. Thanks for all your input!
  7. Yeah you ladies are right. I would NOT be impressed if I had orange stains on my white dress HAHA! Guess it 'sokay for a normal vacation, but wouldn't want to chance it with my wedding. Everyone tells me to just use a tanning bed, but it's sooooo bad for your skin, I'd rather not.
  8. Awesome! Thank you Great idea. I think I will get a personalized beach bag and maybe some flip flops as well for the bridesmaids.
  9. I hope so! Haha, it's still a year away so I have time to do research. I will always ask the girl who is doing my makeup/hair if she knows someone reputable. I got a spray tan this year before going to Cuba and it was fine. Once it sets, it doesn't "melt" off. It just fades gradually. I'm just not sure if Cancun has any reliable salons? Reason I'm asking is, I don't tan. I've got a bit of ginger in me, so I either A) stay white or burn.
  10. Love it all!!! Very exciting! I'm going to steal your idea for the towels for the bridesmaids. Can I ask where you ordered them from?
  11. I'm a Northern Canada girl, so I don't get much sun. Needles to say, I'm pasty white, haha. Has anyone ever gotten a spray tan in Cancun? I don't think the spa at my resort offers them, so I'm wondering if there's any recommended salons I could get a spray tan done 2-3 days before my wedding. I don't want to look orange or streaky....I just want a bit of color so I don't blend in with the sand! Any recommendations would be appreciated - thank you.
  12. Very exciting!!! Enjoy your wedding day
  13. Thanks guys! I'm glad I asked instead of going too early. I'm cheap and there's no way I'm paying twice for alterations, lol.
  14. Thanks guys! It probably is a bit early. I'm planning on maintaining my weight as it is now, but don't want to screw myself over by having to get alterations done twice because I've gained or lost weight unintentionally, haha. I'll give her a call this weekend and see what she suggests! Thank you!
  15. I've seen lots of posts about COST of alterations, but I'm wondering WHEN to get your alterations done. My wedding is in April 2016. My dress is already in. I called my alterations lady to get an appt set up for this weekend and she said "ALREADY??? (she doesn't speak English very well, haha) You very organized, very soon" Sooooo does that mean it's too soon to start alterations? I'm also kind of afraid if I do it now, and gain or lose weight, I'll be screwed...it's a tie up/corset type, so it should be okay. But anyways, WHEN do you plan on getting alterations done? Thanks!
  16. It definitely depends on the resort...we were originally going with Dreams in Cancun, but when we met with our travel agent, it was going to be $2400 per person - WAY out of our guests price range. Dreams was what we wanted, but it was not realistic or affordable, so we change the resort altogether. We're going with the Riu (still in Cancun - still a 4.5 star) but it's $1600 per person...much more affordable, and a better wedding package. All of the information you get by researching is SO overwhelming. I'd highly recommend working with a travel agent! They are a huge help
  17. My fiance is just showing up for the wedding! Everytime I ask for his input or opinion, he just shrugs and says "It's your wedding, whatever you want babe" haha! It's nice in some aspects, but gets frustrating at times!
  18. Susie Q - could you send the info you have to me as well? One of the wedding coordinators sent me some stuff but want to make sure I don't miss anything (since they don't get in touch with you until 3 months before the wedding!) I've been told that a private reception is $60 per person. I think we're going with this option, so we can just spend the whole night in one area (I've rented a DJ as well)
  19. Great website! The prices are excellent - and just what we're looking for. I don't want him to wear shorts (too tacky in my opinion...just me!) so linen is a great option. Thank you!
  20. Welcome and congratulations!! We originally were going to get married at Dreams Riviera Cancun, however when we saw what travel was going to be for our guests (approx $2400 per guest), we decided it wasn't realistic. They also charge an arm and a leg for the smallest things (like $7 for one tea light...?? come on..) We wanted to be more budget friendly, so we are going with the Riu chain now - much cheaper, it's still a 4.5 star and I've heard nothing but good things
  21. Great pictures!! You are absolutely stunning!! Love your hair and dress Congratulations!
  22. That's exciting! Congrats, that's a nice mistake! haha.
  23. I love "My Wish" - great song!! I know it's cliche, but for our exit we're doing "Marry You" by Bruno Mars, lol.
  24. Thanks everyone! I literally couldn't feel anything when we were done, I had to thaw out when we were done, lol. But they did turn out great!
