  1. Congrats and happy planning! We are getting married in Jamaica There is def a ton of info on here I'm sure you'll find all the info you need! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  3. Congrats! @@jennifernoel1 it seems I'm following your posts in a lot of forums haha! Anyway I too am an October 2015 bride getting married in Jamaica. When I first started we had 3 places in mind - DR, Jamaica and Mexico. And we also knew we wanted to do next fall in order to give people time to save and I love the fall And for the Caribbean it wouldn't be as hot as the summer for example. I started by looking at resort/flight pricing for guests and wedding packages and locations. Then I narrowed it down to Jamaica bc DR and Mexico had some stuff about translating documents and ceremonies being in Spanish and I didn't want to have to do that extra work and only a few of our guests would understand the ceremony lol! Well once I picked the location I did a lot of research on resorts mainly through reviews on here and pictures online! It took me a while only bc I'm indecisive and I wanted to save money for us and our guests! Happy planning! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk @@TeamBF Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. I'm always early! So I think everyone here is totally on your side lol. My friend who's getting married in July 2016 started planning before me and our wedding is October 2015! Lol she already has her dress and everything. I haven't even gone dress shopping yet. Lol Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. I'm undecided if I want to do email RSVPs or not. I'm torn because I have older family who I don't think are computer savvy. But now I'm wondering if I could have the younger family members just do it for them? But also I'm wondering if it'll be easier to have the paper RSVP cards in hand so it'll be easier to see exactly how many guests I have and it would be a nice keepsake So many decisions!! 6. Yea I have a TA handling all of the travel as well, so happy I went that route! Imagine the headache trying to coordinate everyone's travel! I doubt I'll have 10+ people on the same flight but if there is I think my TA would try to get group rates for them. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. @@budgetbride2015 I haven't started buying stuff for them yet but I've gotten a lot of ideas on here. Apparently Dollar Tree is a gold mine! People have said they have tumblers and bags there as well! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. It does take forever! I feel like I've been posting a lot too.....lol.
  9. @@jennifernoel1 Yea I am with you on that. But I'm happy with the one we booked, her photos are gorgeous and we're getting a lot for the cost comparable to other photogs in JA. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  10. @@budgetbride2015 yea that was going to be my plan! But I still want seating cuz not everyone will be dancing the whole time I don't think l Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk @@jennifernoel1 yea I'm not paying for an open bar! If we do a welcome party I'm going to just make reservations at one of the restaurants or something. I'm going to just use the cake that is included in the package. We're on a budget so we're trying to maximize what comes with the package and with what we absolutely can't live without. The only additional cost so far is the photographer and whatever I spend on decor I bring and the stuff for the OOT bags. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. @@budgetbride2015 no problem! I've always gotten a response from. Loreto within 2 days. When my TA emails the response tends to be quicker we booked Misha Earle! Super excited, her photos are gorgeous and prices are reasonable. And she covers the vendors fees! Prob gonna stick with the resort florist and DJ if we need one. Still undecided about private reception. Renting out the restaurant plus adding the cost of DJ and having to bring extra decor is a lot of extra money we didn't want to spend. Plus we don't know if we'll meet the guest minimum for that. There's an option to rent out the Mango Walk Disco for 2 hrs before it opens to the public and the fee includes the DJ and open bar! I just need to find out if there's any seating in there....it'll be awkward to just have everyone standing around. I wish I could post pics of ideas I've found for chair decor but I don't think I've met the post minimum for that yet You'll have to tell us how your wedding is since you're before us! 12. We've been together over 11 years, our 12 year dating anniversary is in February. We've been engaged since February 2014 and getting married October 2015. So when we get married we will have been together 12 (almost 13) years! Wow never thought about that. Doesn't seem like we've been together over a decade lol! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. @@budgetbride2015 I thought I read in my documents Loreto sent me that we can't use outside florists? I could be wrong, I'll have to double check. The florist they use seems good and I've read some good reviews on them. We're not having a bridal party so there really won't be many flowers other than what comes with the package (bouquet, boutonnière, and anything for ceremony). You should move your posts to the 2015 thread though Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  14. @@beckys98 the year will fly by trust me! Mine isn't until October 2015 and I'm already feeling like it's creeping up on me! Lol. It's going to be 2015 before we know it! Eeeek! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  15. Yes definitely, I'm hoping the rates are good. Good thing about my TA also is the guests can just put down a deposit to hold the price for the package and just have to pay the remainder 50 days prior to the date. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  16. @@jennifernoel1 I'm just going to be using the flowers included in our package. We're not having a wedding party so we won't be needing anything extra. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  17. I'm using a travel agent/wedding coordinator through modern destination weddings. It's a free service, you only pay a $100 deposit, which goes towards your travel expenses. They help you coordinate with the resort, sort of like a middle man and are going to be helping with booking the travel at the lowest rates available for us and our guests and also with booking our honeymoon. The rates for flights aren't up yet so I don't have any quotes. When I was deciding on resorts I went onto Cheapcaribbean.com to get pricing ideas for that time of year and it had said about $950 pp for 3 nights (fri-mon) including flights from boston/NY (majority of our guests will be flying out from those cities). Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk @@jennifernoel1 We booked an outside photographer based in Jamaica. I read bad reviews on digipix and their prices were too pricey for what you get. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. @@jennifernoel1 wait so you're getting married at the suites on October 23 2015??? So fun! That's exciting we'll be there at the same time! Yes I'm def gonna check out michaels and those online places! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. I hate bows as well! I'm thinking of having the sash tied on the side with a starfish pinned. I've found some cute ideas online! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. Has anyone gotten married at the Suites or knows someone married there and used the tropical bouquet included in the package? I'm trying to pick colors that match the bouquet......help!!! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  21. How is everyone on the planning process? I had my invitation saved online but I guess it's gone now I searched through hundreds of invites on the site I had it saved from but no luck I've chosen a new invitation though, will probably be mailing those out at the beginning of the year. I've been thinking about decor and things but haven't made any final decisions. I'm also waiting to go dress shopping so I can go with my mom back home in Boston. Since we decided to not have a bridal party, I'm finding it hard to pick a color theme! I really love coral and teal so I may try to find a few things in those colors to add to the ceremony decor. I've seen some brides with colored sashes they brought for the chairs and little starfish attached. Anyone know where I can find those? They're so cute. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  22. Will there be another webinar coming up soon that you know of? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  23. We haven't really gotten backlash from people saying we're selfish, but rather people asking why we're not having a wedding in the states. Once I tell them we can't afford it and how much cheaper a destination wedding is, they quickly shut up Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. @@NixSpade That's awesome! So exciting. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
