  10. @@FutureMrsGlover that's great! I know I was so relieved when we booked! Yea I'll have to check out davids bridal in person because when I go online there's nothing I really love. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. @@beckys98 yea I'm not sure if I'll bring extra decor, I'll see how I feel lol. I'm pretty laid back with the whole planning process, just want it to look nice! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  12. @@FutureMrsGlover oh okay! Lol I haven't even looked into just room rates bc package deals are so much cheaper. When I was picking a resort I looked on Cheapcaribbean.com to see what the pricing was like per person for 4days/3nights from where my guests will be flying out of, for this year in October to get an idea and for Iberostar Suites it was like $950/pp so I thought that was pretty good. Hopefully my TA can get us good deals I haven't even gone dress shopping yet! I am on a weight loss journey and I'm going to go dress shopping with my mom back home in Boston so I'm waiting a bit. But I'm sooo tempted to go try this dress on that I found online from Morri Lee that I love! My best friend is coming to visit for a few days in August I think I may take her with me before I fly back home to Boston to go dress shopping with my mom I also want a reception dress but I am gonna see if I can just get like a white dress from somewhere rather than a "gown" so I am not spending a ton on my dresses. 13. @@FutureMrsGlover Did you say Royalton doesn't have rooms available for your dates in another post? Def sleep on it. Sometimes cheaper isn't always better, you want your guests and you to be happy! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk @@FutureMrsGlover Also how are you getting quotes for next October? My date is October 24, 2015 and my TA said the flight prices aren't available until January the earliest. I'd love to know pricing too! Lol Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. @@FutureMrsGlover Yay that's awesome! We are not having a wedding party....I'm so glad I decided against it, so much less stress!!!! And our friends can enjoy themselves without any pressure. We sent out our save the dates earlier this month. I'll be sending out the invites maybe in January so people can make travel arrangements early if they want. Those centerpieces sound so cute! Pinterest and Etsy are amazing for ideas. I got our save the dates from zazzle.com - super cheap and I'll be getting the invites from there as well. When is your wedding? 15. @@FutureMrsGlover yes the blue moon music bar is where the brides review I read had her welcome "party"! That's great! Wow those are a lot of extra costs for the Royalton! Iberostar's package is very well priced. We really want a beach ceremony! Hopefully weather permits. I also love the view from the lobby terrace I know we don't choose it until we are there and they show you all the locations so I think we may wait to decide until we actually see the locations ourselves and see which one feels right. Although my fiancée and I are dead set on being barefoot haha. All their locations are gorgeous. I saw a brides pics where hers was in the lazy river, that was pretty cool and you can do the cocktail hour right there too I think. So many options!!! Did you happen to find any better pics of what the bouquet included looks like? I'm thinking of buying fabric for the chairs and arch in a color rather than the white silver or gold included in the package, but I want it to match the tropical bouquet. 16. Well with the dinner there's no music just the restaurant music so we can't do any dances during it, I've read reviews where they did the cake and speeches but I think that's about it. I'm leaning towards the disco I just need to find out if there is any seating available there. And like all the details, it depends on our guest count and since the wedding is still over a year away I won't be able to make any final decisions for a while lol For a welcome party I was just going to have everyone meet at one of the restaurants so we don't have to pay for a private event and DJ. Or I read a review where the WC let the bride and her guests meet in one of the bars during the time it wasn't open to the public yet and they had one bartender there to serve them some drinks. I was going to ask about that when I got down there I don't have money to spend on extra private events so whatever I can get for free is great! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. Well I haven't ordered invites yet but I got my save the dates online from zazzle.com and we loved them! And so affordable. I'm getting my invites from them as well, already have my design picked out. And you can customize them to add whatever you want. And they have so many different designs and templates, especially boarding pass ones. That's what I'm doing Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  18. Hey all! We decided to not have a bridal party as he has too many brothers and friends and I do not have enough girls! And also because I don't want to add extra costs for them since they're already paying for their travel. Now I'm stuck on if I should have a color theme? I know my resort includes a bouquet for me and flowers for the arch for the ceremony. So I want to match any extra decorative things I may bring to the colors in the flowers. I am going to go with the tropical bouquet and the info I got was that it includes pink or red ginger lilies, red/pink/peach/ivory anthuriums, heliconias (it doesn't specify the color but when I googled this flower most of the pics were reddish orange, pink torch ginger, birth of paradise (googled this too and it's yellow/orange), and daisies if I want. HELP! It sounds like Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Woops hit create before I finished! Lol. Sounds like pink or orange/yellow might be good colors to stick with for any extra decor I will bring. I'm going to try to find a picture of the bouquet they include to get a better idea. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. I too am trying to decide on what to do for a welcome dinner. I was thinking to just reserve at one of their restaurants or to meet at their buffet restaurant for dinner or at one of their bars. Not sure yet. We too will have some people who don't know each other. I read a review of another bride that got married at the resort we are getting married at where the wedding coordinator let them meet at one of the bars that wasn't open to the public yet and just had the bartender serve them some drinks! I thought that was great and private! I plan to ask our WC if this is possible Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. @@FutureMrsGlover Yes Iberostar's packages are very affordable! So did you like the resort and rooms? I'd love to hear about your visit as we will not have the opportunity to do one prior to the wedding! I think we will do the champagne toast after the ceremony at the dinner maybe? With the cake. Yea even with centerpieces only needed for the private restaurant reception it would add up depending on our guest count and then the DJ! Because the fee alone is more and then you have to add the DJ fee for 3 hours. We'll see. The club rental includes the DJ and open bar and it's only $450 so I think we're just going to do that But we are going to wait until we have a final guest count to make a decision and since we don't plan the final details until 2 months prior to the wedding with the coordinator it works out Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. @@NixSpade Congrats! We are getting married 10.24.15! So close Well picking the resort was the hardest decision for us! Well mostly me Because I wanted it to be affordable for everyone but was still looking for certain things in a resort for our wedding. We found Iberostar Rose Hall Suites and it was what we were looking for! It is gorgeous and when I looked at pricing for October it was pretty affordable! I then went on tons of sites reading reviews after reviews because we were not going to be able to do a site visit prior to booking the resort. We didn't really find any bad reviews and their wedding packages are good so we decided to book it! I would suggest booking soon though because we had originally been looking at a November date but it was already booked! I was so surprised. It turned out better for us to have an October date anyway because it works better for people with the holidays and all. Good luck and happy planning! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. @@beckys98 We are getting married at the Suites. We chose it because it just gave us that wow factor we were looking for. The Beach is nice too, but the Suites just did it for me. I guess it's all in personal preference. My fiancée also loved the lazy river lol Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. @@skelly0386 Congrats! I am getting married at the Suites! I booked Misha Earle! Her work is amazing. And budget friendly I've read great reviews on her and so far via email she's super accommodating to my millions of questions! Lol Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. Hey all! I'm new to this site but have been looking through all the forums for great ideas! We have booked our wedding at the Iberostar Rose Hall Suites in Montego Bay. In talking it over with my fiancée we really want some kind of private reception. The package includes the semi private dinner only. We looked at renting the restaurant out for a private reception, but with the added fees plus paying for a DJ for that time and added decor requirements, we just don't have room in the budget for it. The resort has an option though to rent out their club "disco" for a couple of hours before they open to the public. It includes the DJ and open bar. I was thinking - since I've read on here that the semi private dinner feels pretty private as they put the wedding party in a section by themselves and there's usually not a lot of people in the restaurant at that time - to have the dinner and then go and have a private "reception" in the club? We really wanted the private reception to have some traditional things like first dance, father/daughter dance, mother/son dance etc. Any brides do this at their Suites wedding? Any help would be appreciated! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
