  1. These look great! We are about to place our orders for the custom linen suit and shirts from Island Importer as well. We are doing the suit/pants in Ivory and the long sleeved Amalf shirts in Coral. I got some fabric samples from them and I'm impressed with quality. Make sure to post these on their Facebook page. They give you a refund of 10% if you spent more than $500!
  2. looks lovely. Don't worry about length and size, they will get it right if you indeed sent in the correct measurements. My dress fit perfectly, except I found I couldn't depend on the bra cups they put in the dress because it was too big. (I measured myself with a bra on that was NOT padded but the fact that it held "the girls" up probably made a difference). I tried on the dress with my own strapless bra and it filled out fine. I also purchased some of those inserts (chicken filets) so I don't have to wear a "double strapless bra". Your dress may not have that as it's not strapless. 3. Thanks! I didn't have on the underskirt for this quick shot I took, the dress bottom is quite full but I can walk and sit and dance in that dress. lol I am happy. I also wanted to say that they did an AMAZING job with the beading and lace detail on the dress. I have the zipper with fabric buttons and loops. No problem zipping the dress myself, but will need help with the buttons
  4. I did receive my dress and I love it! The bust area was a little big though. I should have measured without a bra but nothing some inserts can't fix. Jasmine's did a great job on the dress!
  5. you can see sunrise and sunset times http://www.timeanddate.com. Just punch in your location under the sun and moon calculator and month. I think for that part of mexico, the sun sets around 5pm.
  6. Sounds great. Where are you renting the tables and chairs from?
  7. shades of purple: most popular color used in weddings!
  8. FYI: I just got an email from James at Jasmines that Lisa (who was my consultant) is no longer working there so now they are down to just him! He's going to be swamped big time. I was just getting to the end of my transaction with them too! I had one last thing I wanted adjusted and fixed with the lace on the bodice of my dress, but other than that I was ready to have the dress shipped soon.
  9. ahh I got it. I just got thrown off by the legally married part in NYC.
  10. ALSO: That statement from the NYC site means that if you got married in Buffalo, NY they still won't maintain your marriage record. It has nothing to do with the legal validity of the marriage, simply that they don't maintain your marriage record in the city of new york.
  11. You are still going to be legally married if you just get married in the Cayman Islands. The State of NY just will not be maintaining your marriage record. You'd have to keep certified copies of your marriage record from the Cayman Islands with you personally and if you for whatever reason need to get more certified copies of it, you'd have to get it directly from the Cayman Islands marriage records department. They don't require you to register your marriage from another country in many states as it is sort of redundant. Your marriage in the Cayman Islands is valid in all of the United States including the District of Columbia.
  12. We are doing welcome bags in lieu of favors, however our welcome bags will be almost 100 percent filled with things you can only get in Grand Cayman. I think I mentioned this before, but we are putting a welcome letter, a cartoon map of the island, tortuga Caybrew beer (or ginger beer), mini tortuga rum cake and cayman saltwater taffy. that's it. Want to keep it simple but basically scream of grand cayman. I was not interested in doing anything like a bunch of monogrammed stuff. This also means less stuff to bring with me from home
  13. She might be in Canada. In the US if they declare the item to be under $150, you don't have to worry about duty/taxes. I order stuff internationally from Asia all the time, never have to pay that.
  14. I think your dress is lovely and they did do a nice job with the replica. With that said, I see what you are talking about with the crystals and draping in the front. I have no idea how to address that but it could also be how it's sitting on the mannequin? It's so hard to tell because when it's actually on you, it could be a totally different story and while wearing the dress, you could adjust angle to might give you the illusion you are looking for. I would ask them about this.
  15. except "At Last" is famously and originally performed by Etta James. It was her signature song. FYI
  16. I also used weddingwire.com. I love their RSVP feature! Helps me get organized with my guest list.
  17. nevermind, I think I am partial to the egglpant satin sashes and tablerunners at tableclothfactory.
  18. I like those! I am torn between doing the orange sashes like these or plum in organza from weddinglinesdirect. Were these long enough?
