  1. Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands on April 19, 2013 right on Seven Mile Beach. So cannot wait! Congrats to all!
  2. have just contacted them and asked? Or you don't have a date yet?
  3. Wow, I really love that dress. It was one of the contenders for me and it looks great on you! Beautiful photos too
  4. all of your pics are gone from your profile MissKoral. Sorry about the flooding and hope everything is okay with you and your family.
  5. So far I have no regret but my dress is not done yet so I don't have it in my hands. lol So far I am loving it from the progress photos I have seen of it. I am hoping I will feel the same once I try it on again
  6. You know after reading this thread last night, I had a dream that half of my invitations got sent back to me because of the wrong postage! lol I sent a "tester" invitation to my mom and dad out in California a few weeks ago after having it weighed at the post office and told it would be regular postage. They received it without incident. I am hoping the same will be true when I mail my invitations out to everyone else in a few weeks!
  7. My FI has picked his outfit and the outfits of his BM and my dad. We are getting married on the beach. They are all wearing clothing from http://www.islandimporter.com . My fiance is doing the custom Monaco suit and custom almafi shirt. My dad and his BM are just wearing the custom pants and shirt. He chose coral for the shirts and the suit and pants will be in ivory. I ordered swatches from them and they were quick. They also have pretty good reviews. You can see real wedding photos on their facebook page. As for shoes, they will all most likely wear the beach sandals from island importer in brown.
  8. we aren't doing a TTD. Just more photos that will end up collecting dust and we would rather spend the extra cash on a new couch or something
  9. I agree with the sentiment to remember that this is a special celebration for the two of you. If your loved ones are there to celebrate with you, great! It's icing on the cake. We're also not doing an AHR, since neither of us lives near our hometowns and none of our friends live in either of those respective towns either, did not even come across our minds.
  10. we reserved our wedding venue in July for our April 2013 wedding. It sort of helps that Grand Cayman isn't a resort island (they only have one which we aren't staying at or getting married at) and has less wedding activity going on there, I think.
  11. Dessy. They are a little pricey but they have a lot of colors and styles.
  12. absolutely this dress was made for you! It looks stunning on you and also agree that you should keep the bow. It is a wonderful accent to the dress and looks naked without it IMHO. Congrats on finding the perfect gown!
  13. I always get travel insurance when I travel internationally. It isn't just good to have if your trip gets cancelled, it's really helpful if you get delayed! If you have a layover somewhere and you miss your connecting flight due to the airline, your insurance kicks in. Covers meals and accommodations if necessary. Also covers you for lost/stolen/damaged baggage (not a huge amount of money but it helps). We actually had this issue when we went to Guatemala and it covered our hotel stay and meals! Totally worth the extra $28 for travel insurance IMHO. As for flights, why AirTran? Is it because of pricing? I just remember a few years ago when we had our family reunion in Panama, a lot of my family members booked flights with them and many of them had issues with delayed/lost luggage and also cancelled flights was an issue. This was actually during high season! No weather issues, they just sucked! It was the cheapest airline I think for a lot of people coming from all over the country. But man was I glad not to have used them. Maybe they have improved in the last 3 years? I don't know. All I know is I wish JetBlue was flying out of DC to Cayman!
  14. Are you going to have Jasmine's do this or did you already purchase the original at the bridal salon? I check on this thread to see her first dress and it was posted on this thread back in February. Not sure the page. It's very vintage looking and simple. Another beautiful dress, but I can see how she might feel more "bride-ish" in this second dress.
  15. oh now that is gorgeous!! I love the lace and it fits you so beautifully! Perfect!
  16. I agree about the belt location but if it's custom that may just be where your waist is? I am not sure though. I think both dresses are lovely and yes, you should definitely get the petticoat for the first dress to get a more fuller skirt.
  17. Thanks! I am really quite happy with how it's progressing and I am happy that it now appears to have a shape. I was getting mighty worried for a second there. I had my fiance help me We used a measuring tape from the fabric store and also based on my other dresses I have at home and the measuring charts for those dresses, I was able to deduce that what we came up with were accurate measurements.
  18. Is anyone planning on bringing wedding stuff down with them like favors, decor, etc? I have come to the reality that I'll be bringing at least one extra suitcase full of stuff it seems.
  19. Lisa from Jasmines sent more progress photos of my dress with the lace application (now they will apply the beading and buttons) and what a difference the revisions I asked for made! It has the shape! I am happy with the progress so far!
