Yes, what font did you use? I really like it! They look great, I really do not see an issue with them. I love the starfish date.

I have had these problems too! You know what they say, weddings bring out the best and the worst in people. I have been avoide by some people as well. In my opinion, I am so laid back and if people cannot make it, they just cannot make it. But don't avoid me, just tell me you cannot go! You know? It is very frustrating dealing with these people. It is almost like we have the plague because we chose to do a destination wedding! Guess what, that is what we wanted, I am sorry I didn't throw you a $40,000 party, geesh! (sarcasm!) LOL! I bet most brides here deal with it, that is what I love about this forum...finding out amazing informtion, and venting to people that completely understand!! You are not alone. :-)

Congrats and welcome to all of the joining 2013 brides! I read somewhere about the Grand Palladium, I do not know about Jamaica but I went to the Grand Palladium in Punta Cana, DR and I would never go back.

When you say you are having dinner at the steakhouse and the receptions at the wet bar, does that mean you are just having a cocktail hour after dinner? And does that mean you are not paying all of the extra fees for a private area? I think I like this idea a lot. I have so many questions. PM if you can. :-)

So I just took a quick look at a vacation package and flights are out up to Janaury 17. I am looking for the end of January so I am sure they will be out next week. I cannot believe how much they are though... I hope the TA can get a good deal. I am happy you were able to book already! I cannot wait to finalize a date!

That is a good point, it may be a US thing. I did have most of the hotel prices last month when I went to the TA. But flights here in the US do not come out for January 2013 until about mid-March this year. (Going to the TA Monday!). We will be doing pacakges as well, just waiting on the flights now to pick what dates I may want. Flights changed by one day could mean a $200pp savings. I dont know why they do that here...makes things quite frustrating.

I noticed that you can start groups on this forum. That might be a great way to have somewhere for people to talk about these things and support one another. I hope you hear good news too. Will be thinking of you guys....

I also only want a media package, I have people that can also handle the coffe table/photobook. Plus I love to play with some photography programs so it would be great to get the CD. I am not sure what photography companies are used at the 2 resorts I chose, I cannot figure it out. I looked at some of Carribean Emotions and their packages are right in my price range. I will be checking into them as well once I find out what the resorts use.

I had to wait too. :-( I hope that does not mean I have a crappy TA. LOL!

First, would you all say that if you have 25-35 people the Jellyfish would be better? What about the boat that hosts weddings too? Anyone ever try that place? FI doesnt understand why we wouldnt be able to eat together at one of the restuarants with it being all-inclusive either. I get what he is saying but I just assumed you couldn't. Oh and who is the photographer everyone chose? Who is the resort photgrapher? Thanks!

I have already had some snarky remarks on even having a destination wedding...those people have been uninvited to any event. LOL But I do see the point in thinking they are not good enough for the ceremony and such. I definitley do not want people to feel that way. My families are throwing me a shower and I am still having a ladi back AHR. Thanks for the advice!

I am just sending out the save the dates this week (I know its late, I wanted to get them out sooner). Mine will just say January 2013 as well. :-) I am going to see my TA this weekend and see if she has any updates. I am getting so excited now! I decided that I will be making the boarding pass invitations, though I just went to a website called www.zazzled.com and they had some pretty cool passport invites. I think I want to take on the DIY project though. LOL. Are you having a AHR? I am but I am not inviting all of the people from the AHR to our destination wedding, is that bad? I was just thinking about it as I am sending out the save the dates. It's getting a little tricky you know? 50-100 people? That is awesome. I definitely think we will hit about 35, give or take a few. I like the Monday wedding idea, I will have to add that onto the list for the travel agent to look at the prices too. Are you doing a legal or symbolic ceremony? We decided on symbolic. It's weird but I think in the end it will help not being as stressed once I am down there. Tell me more about DPB! How is the beach? I have been to PC before but stayed at the Grand Palladium.

You invited all of the guests to both? I was wondering if I should do that to. I am so confused on that matter... :-(

I couldn't find any pictures of the Honeymoon suite either, we are looking into that as well definitely. If I will be there 10 nights for sure. :-) That is a nice incentive for the packages. I still have yet to chose mine. What one do you like? I am just thinking about the extra costs for the amount of people I have. The packages are only for up to 20 people right? As for the reception, I have not decided if I want private or semi-private so I have not chose a area yet. I hope you dont have to wait until you meet with the WC! I heard they do 3 weddings a day and I would not want someone taking the area I would want... :-( I will keep you guys posted if I hear anything. Did you pick a date yet?

The date I want is Janaury 25, 2013 but it will all depend on the airline prices really. I am not picky about the date, just excited to go! I thought I would prefer a Thursday or Friday date only so that it can work around the schedules of the guests and how many vacation days they have to use but really I have no preference. My TA said that DPC would not be up to my expectations either and that DPB was much better. I have never been to either so I am just going off of what she said and what others have said really! What package did you choose? I am confused on those. I will most likely have about 30 people, wondering what that will cost me. I dont need a frilly ceremony, the suroundings are the best decorations for that. I havent decided what parties I want yet either. I would really like to do a welcome lunch/dinner or something. Or at least have everyone meet at the same place! What are your plans???

I like the one on each side idea. That can get difficult too but it easier to explain just one, then having 3 and leaving out 2. Good point!

I still have not asked people to stand up either. My problem is this, my best friend is in the process of trying to have a baby, if she is 9 months pregnant next January she obvioulsy will not be going. I do not want any of my other friends that are able to go to feel like a "backup" plan you know? So I have been dragging my feet on this...I think it is hard to chose as well. Chosing is the worst. But if you orginally wanted 1 and your FI wanted 3, tell him to add on 2 more men. That way you have 5 ladies and your two men are groomsmen. :-)

What photographer did you do with??

I am a January 2013 and Dreams Palm Beach is one of the two resorts I am picking from, the other is Excellence. From what I read and what I have heard DPM is the better of the two for wedding groups. My TA said she highly recommends going here instead without a doubt. After hearing that and checking out the reviews online, it is one of my top contenders. I really feel that chosing the right resort for you is the hardest part. I am still stressed! I wanted to chose a resort by now! But I am trying not to stress, it seems many BDW brides have loved the journey of planning a destination wedding and I, for the most part, have too. I will be making a decision this week! Save the dates are coming in today! (Just leaving the resort name off of them, I made a website to keep everyone posted on that). :-) There are not very many thread for DPB so maybe yours can start a new one!!
