  1. this is a great tip to have! thanks for sharing the idea. i'll definitely be doing something on my shoes or flip flops to show off my new name or the word "bride" so will have to get a hold of this glue. it's so nice to be able to post about what i know and have others post things to share with me. thanks again!
  2. my friend said 20-25 for a decent size room should make the room pop just enough with not too many lanterns. you don't want to over-do things w/ the lanterns because then it will look tacky. if you know the size of the room, it might be helpful for you in ordering the correct number you need to have for your venue. happy planning to you!
  3. i love the white...all of them white i should say. i think it looks very "wedding" and elegant! i'm impressed by how nice they look. where did you buy your paper lanterns from? do you remember pricing on these and how many you got? congrats on a job well done!
  4. they look so elegant and professional! good for you for doing this all on your own! very impressive to say the least! did you use a special template? i really like how the green color pops out at you when you see them. excellent choice! be proud of your hard work!
  5. definitely etsy! they do all of those cute personal things that brides love! i have gotten things for myself and friends made from etsy and i have been happy every time with the results of items i've purchased. good luck!
  6. Wow! These are very impressive and creative! They look lovely and I can tell you put a lot of effort and time into making them. I know your guests will love them and they will look so beautiful! It's the little details that count!
  7. i love the logo! what program did you use to create this? they look great and will add a really pretty touch to things you personalize throughout your wedding planning!
  8. where did you get the template for the boarding passes or did you make them yourself? either way, i think they are fab!! happy planning to you...you're definitely going to get lots of compliments on these when your guests receive them.
  9. i really like the banner and sign ideas. i was thinking of getting signs made up through etsy, but i'm going to do it through vista print since i'm sure it is much more cost effective. happy ordering, everyone!
  10. i just got confrmations from a person named nicole. she is the one who has been writing to me and sending me all the information on my contracts and agreements. hope that helps if you are trying to touch base with anyone at the resort for your wedding at this point.
  11. great idea and thanks for sharing! i am going to take a look at this to see the averages...something i should have thought about before! this will be a handy tool!
  12. definitely check out the DIY section of this website. i am a new member and have been poking around on the different threads. you will be amazed as to how creative and detail oriented some of the brides are with the projects and posts they provide. truly an inspiration!
  13. what is a jumping broom used for? i have never heard of this, but it looks so pretty. all of your items are so well coordinated and put together. i can tell you spent some nice time on your planning. thanks for sharing the pics...good job to you!
  14. i like the 2nd one better. remember to put a space after the comma if you really want to be correct with the typing portion of your symbol. where did you have these made up? did you use a website or do them yourself? they look very professional!
  15. definitely go to the thread for that particular hotel. i have been doing a lot of reading on there as i just booked my wedding for july 2012. they have a ton of information from other brides. a lot of the posts are very detailed, which i found to be most helpful as i'm so new to all of this!
  16. wow, this is great information for someone trying to figure out who to choose as a photographer! i love the TTD idea, so that is really cool that you can use the same person the next day for these pictures. did anyone find out the difference between ronald and romey? which person should you try to book as your photographer through this company? any info is appreciated! thanks so much again for all the great info!
  17. oh, you are too funny! i don't have any interest in using a hairdryer, either! i wonder what the best way to travel w/ it back home is... if you hear of any ideas, please let me know. i'll keep asking around and do the same. some crazy thoughts we have...but they are definitely good questions!
  18. oh, wow, that is a lot of money. thanks for posting the info you had. i love the idea of the video, but not sure if i'm willing to spend that much money on it. i think i would rather have my money go to a photographer since i love pictures and know i will see the pictures hanging in my home over the years more so than watching a video. i''ve asked a lot of friends about the video part of their weddings and they all say they watch the video a lot when they first get it, but then don't watch it for a long time. i guess it gets more or less shelved along with other videos you own, which is why i would rather have the photos.
  19. is aaron watson a photographer/videographer in jamaica? that was a great video! thanks so much for sharing this with us. i got teary eyed during certain parts of the video. he really captured some very special times of the wedding day in that video. something that is hard to do when keeping a video under 8 minutes!
  20. may i ask where you bought your lanterns from? are you happy with the quality of them? i have been doing searches online and there are so many vendors out there for this product. do yours light up on the inside? if so, how do they light up? any info you can provide on your choice would be most helpful. thanks so much!
  21. do you have a website you can post for us? i'd love to see work of former brides. do you airbrush? how much do you charge? do you do a trial run of the make up before the wedding day? thanks so much! great to hear from you and thanks for sharing your info!
  22. i just got my aug. 2012 date and the paperwork i received said that i should expect a 10% increase in the current rates that they offer for 2011. i just received my formal agreement back via email and it made no mention of any other increases in prices. if i hear anything, i'll be sure to let you know. we are doing the legal ceremony. have you heard anything more on the pricing? what extras are you doing for your guests?
  23. i am having my wedding at the suites and have been trying to find this out as well. if i ever get any information on your question, i'll post what in find out on here. please do the same. i worry about the way a dress like this will "travel" on an airplane. oh, how stressful to think it would not travel well on the airplane. no way am i sending it ahead of time or checking it in. that dress is staying with me on the plane!
  24. i agree with everything you said! i don't think there is anything that stands out in my mind that i need to do for my wedding on that list. i'm going to do some searches myself and see if there is anything to incorporate into my wedding day that i like. i will let you all know if i find anything worthwhile to share with you!
  25. i think it will be interesting to see how many people attend my wedding. i'm still putting feelers out there before sending the save the date cards out. i am going to include some type of response card along with the save the date card so that i have a tentative number of guests who will be attending. i guess this is something that is full of surprise and wonder!
