The Official INSANITY Support Thread
atalanta replied to kellygrrrl's topic in Beauty, Exercise, Diet
@sxcT, I'm just like you in that I have started and stopped Insanity so many times. I re-started last Monday and did all six days for the very first time. I just finished Cardio Power and Resistance for week 2. Like you I feel like I have improved so much and like you I hope I can make it through the 60 days this time. -
Has anyone heard of Hummingbird Hall in Montego Bay?
atalanta replied to delgadot's topic in Destination Weddings in Jamaica
Welcome @mbjlove. I haven't seen HH yet (not until the rehearsal), but their staff is wonderful and have equally as good or better reviews than I've read for Almarie. At the beginning of the year, I was so ahead in planning. Now, I'm so behind the other ladies who are having their wedding after mine. That is to say we will probably have some sort of rehearsal dinner, but I don't know where. One place I would suggest is the Luminous Lagoon. We are getting married too close to the full moon otherwise we would plan to have our rehearsal dinner there. I can't really recommend the restaurant (never been there), but the water has one of the most bioilluminescent activities in the world. (Check the internet for pictures). What a great experience to have for you and your guests! How many guests are you having? -

@KaRon, I think I wasn't clear. My quote was a little less than double what you were quoted, which I thought made sense since we have twice as many people. -

@KaRon, We have about 200 on our guest list, but do not expect all whom are invited to actually come, especially since HH can only accommodate 130. -

@KayRon, Congratulations on finding a sweet and affordable deal for your wedding. I agree with delgadot, this is a beautiful villa, particularly the inside. A rough extrapolation from the number of people youmare having to our guest number suggests that this quote is on scale with the quote we received from HH, and we also are having our wedding on the beach. May I ask how this price in comparison to what you received from HH? Just curious. Happy planning! -
@luvmoo, Congratulations! What an inspiration you are! I'm in there with you. I am trying to lose 25 lbs by the time I order my dress at Thanksgiving and 50 lbs by next July. I hope I can be as successful! Congratulations again and a cheer for the next 50!

Yes, I also noticed the bulge under the left bust (right side of pic). You definitely want to confirm that is not how the dress will look when you receive it. I must say that this dress looks better than the original. This is the second time I've noted this on these pages. I wish it happened more regularly.

Me, too! -
Ok now futuremrstgun, You know that I have great love for you, but I'm going to have to disagree with your last post. The Iberostars aren't the best on the island. They are only thought to be, which is why they get away with so much crap. I wouldn't even give it to them that they are the best in Rose Hall. I think Half Moon is actually better and the Palmyra is going to blow them away once they become full service, and that's only considering Rose Hall not even Montego Bay at-large, Ocho Rios, Negril, or my favorite resort Strawberry Hill in the Blue Mountains. I don't mean to blast, but I think that this kind of thinking is why brides at the Iberostar resorts suffer so much, putting up with the lack of communication and responses, the onlookers at weddings, and double paying for food. In my opinion, these should not be acceptable especially if you are paying for your wedding, but enough brides continue to book under these circumstances so they don't have to change what they are doing. Thing is there are enough BDW brides, that if you were fed up, and took a stand, could probably make a difference. I took my stand alone so nothing is going to change. My 2 cents.

HH brides, I just noticed that there are new pics up in the HH Gallery! http://www.hummingbirdhall.com/gallery/. Enjoy! -
My two cents sauced: intoxicated; drunk (slang) soused: intoxicated; drunk (slang) souced: to play a song over and over again until it is too much (slang)

I had the same feeling as you mrstgun, I loved the idea of passport invitations. Other than the fact that I have gotten the feeling that they are so over done, I just new someone would have thought that I found their passport and mailed it to them. LOL. Tory makes a good point about them just seeming over done to us because we are on BDW 24-7. So I'm going to go ahead with my plan to use them for the itinerary I'm putting in the OOT bags. The other thing I will say is that nothing you do looks trite. You manage to put a new spin on every project. I'm so glad you haven't gone cold turkey on us.

@FutureMrsLewis Gathers I haven't sewn anything in a really long time, but IMHO if your seamstress lets out the gathers on the right side of the dress, you will get the lifted-gather on your left hip the way you wanted it. Rip I suspect that the dress was ripped early and that is why the gathers were bunched on the right to 'hide' the rip. If the right hip was left free the rip would be more visible. Shape What I see as the biggest difference between the inspiration pic and your dress is that your dress looks more like a sheath instead of being A-line. You didn't say if you asked for that change in the dress. If not to get what could be a more-flattering shape of dress will require a new structuring of the entire skirt of the dress. This could probably be done because of the empire waist ban on the dress, but it might be costly. Considering that you probably got your dress at a good deal, you probably will still make out ahead with an altered dress and getting it customed designed (the pink embellishments). Taking all three points together, I think restructuring the skirt might not be a bad idea. Don't worry. All is not lost, you still have multiple options reworking the dress, ordering a new one, or buying one. I hope this helps.

OMG. I just read a thread with rules for the planning thread. Here is a link to what the planning thread is and isn't supposed to be http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/thread/24417/wedding-planning-journal-forum-and-posting-threads-read-first-before-posting. The title of the thread is "Wedding Planning Journal" forum and posting threads...READ FIRST BEFORE POSTING! just in case the link doesn't work. That said, I'm like MJKH, I love when the threads are detailed with lots of pics and words.

@Canadiangirl, We were planning to use the white boards to leave notes for guests as torilynnsmith mentioned. Thanks for the warning @torilynnsmith,I hadn't really considered possible room invasion scenarios, but since we are very heavily leaning towards a small hotel I think we will be fine using them. i.pdf
