  1. Hey girls! I have some timing questions. We are doing the Catholic Chapel at 4pm 5pm toast and photos 5:45 head to beach reception 6 dinner 7-10 dance Andrea is my WC I'm in contact with currently She insists that I upgrade the toast to cocktail hour ($10pp does not seem worth it to me) I insist I don't... ok then my concern is the dinner and DJ is 3 hours. If dinner and drinks go from 6-9 and DJ goes from 7-10 -At 7 are we going to be finished with dinner and ready for the DJ? -what should i do for drinks from 9-10? Any ideas or past experience advise is greatly appreciated! Thanks ladies!
  2. My mom took some photos. If I can get ahold of them soon I'll get them to you! Do you have a dress? This one was the only one that did just the right things for me, sweetheart, mermaid (had to hit at the right spot) and a Spanish feel. I suggest you try it if you like it! Thanks again girls for all your love!
  3. Thank you ladies!! It is such a great feeling to have it ordered! Now onto the next step!
  4. We have our photographer booked now. Its actually one of the few things we are certain about. I think I found my dress! Yay! ( I think....) I tried it on a few weeks ago and I haven't stopped thinking about it. I went out dress shopping all day yesterday and at the end of the day it was still #1 on my mind! So I started searching on-line for the make and style number. I found a site that claims to have this dress for sale for 100's of dollars less than it is selling for in the stores. I printed it out brought it with to the dress shop and asked what they thought of it and if they price matched.... they said all they could think of is that it is a knock off... I'm wondering if it is worth a shot. Has any one ordered dresses on-line for freakishly cheap prices? There are even some on eBay from china ($99 free shipping) that are cute! (maybe Ill order one for my TTD just so I can review them on BDW) I am totally all about being cheap.... talk about champagne taste on a beer budget! Feel me?? On that note.... has anyone esle noticed that the prices for GCR - Royal (and airfare) are NOT as good as they were a few months back?? I hope this doesnt last because my guests are not on the booking band wagon just yet. I hope that some one pulls the trigger soon but I dont want them to pay more than they have to.
  5. Hi!!! Sorry I didnt reply until now. I have been in contact with Andrea. She has been great so far! You have so much organized already! I love your TTD idea! We are bringing our photographer with and she is doing a TTD/Post bridal shoot for us too. Im going to have our 2 yr old son in there as well.... now that you gave me the idea! Have you found a dress yet? What are your ceremony and reception locations? Thanks for joining me!

  8. Hi FEB 12 friends!! Could you tell me more about your personalized lip balm? Im working with a person from ebay, but I wasnt extremely impressed with the samples they sent me... and they forgot to send the sample labels as well But the prices were under $1 each so I thought that was pretty good.

  11. Hey! Just got my photographer all squared away! We are bringing her with us and it's going to be awesome to have her capturing everything along the way. I suggest you figure out what you can work with your budget and let them know up front before you sign a contract. My photographer is an amazing wedding photographer and she is interested in building her DW work so we worked out a super deal! And we are both so excited! If anybody is getting married in Cancun/Riviera Maya area around Feb. 25 let me know if you want to get in on my photographer! She will be looking for more work while down there! 12. Kerns Im doing OOT's and no favors at the tables. I dont know how the heck I will get all this stuff down there. We have a TA and decided not to block rooms because Gran Caribe wanted a $7000 deposit for 23 rooms. Here is my site if you want to see how we will present it to the guests. weddingwire.com/donnylovesshaleen
  13. I went with a TA and we decided to not hold any rooms because the resort required a $7,000 deposit to hold 23 rooms..... grrr. (Gran Caribe) but I think it will turn out ok. Here is my site if you want to see how this is presented to the guests weddingwire.com/donnylovesshaleen
  14. OKAY, check check check no comment " Im looking for a bride in the Cancun area with a wedding date of 2-25-12 or around there to share my photographer with. She is an amazing photographer and will be comparable in taste but much cheaper than "the leading you know who..." Im flying her down on the 23rd to do my wedding on the 24th. PM me if interested.
  15. You may have made a decision already but I suggest Gran Caribe Real's Chapel, or there is one spot that has concrete collums.... dreams, or Riu or Cancun Palace.... Im drawing a blank. Im at Gran Caribe Real 2-24-12 deciding between beach or chapel now.... thinking chapel because FI is 6'6 Im 5'3 gonna NEED HEELS! haha
  16. My friend asked me this question long ago and I blew it off.... well here I am searching it on the site and thinking my decision to have a beach ceremony is not such a good idea considering FI is 6'6 and Im 5'3 YIKES! I might have to switch locations...
  17. Im pretty sure you need to be in the Cancun area at least 4 business days before your able to legally get married there. My TA suggested we get legal documents/"paper work" done here before we leave at the courthouse to avoid the hassle. Then do a symbolic ceremony in MX. That way you can arrive and get married the next day, then spend more time with your guests and have those extra days at the end of your trip. She said that most do it this way to save a little money. The other idea is - My friend just got back from her wedding at Dreams Tulum. They arrived on Wednesday and were able to get married legally on Monday. ( that's technically 3 business days)
  18. I know that one of the terraces has green carpet... I don't know if that will bother you or not.
  19. Awesome. I was thinking of moving the ceremony time to 5pm to get better pictures at sunset. I think that's a great point about the hot sun! Thanks a million!!
  20. Hey Ladies!! I'm booked for Febuary 24th 2012! Yay! Question... We are doing a beach ceremony and reception. Any idea what part of the beach is best? Or better? I can not find any pic or reviews of real weddings and receptions on the beach at the gran caribe or royal. Is it a bad idea? I'm interested to hear where you chose and why.
