    Sherma25, I'm getting married at the Majestic Elegance Punta Cana too!!! My date is January 6, 2012!! I've only read great things about thre resort even though I haven't been there! I can't wait!!!!!!

    SBTB- I'm also getting married at 3:00pm at ME and I booked Phil Steingard as my photographer. He does a majority of the wedding photography at the resort and promised me that 3:00pm was a PERFECT time!! He said that it was just enough time for a toast afterwards/pictures and not to be rushed to dinner!!! He also said that he liked both the wet bar and parrot bar, but the wet bar fits more people. I hope this helps!! There is soooo much great info. on here, and also try the Majestic Colonial Brides forum on facebook!

    I'm soooo glad I found this forum! When I got engaged (4 months ago) I told myself that I was going to start my workout plan....I'm having such a hard time getting motivated?!?!? I feel like I spend all my free time on wedding stuff and research! I saw that some brides are going to run a 5K, so I decided to get off the couch and sign up!!! YAY!!! I hope to report back more good news soon! Good luck girls!!!!!!

    I don't understand!!!! My future brother-in-law lives in Chicago and looked up flights for our wedding; it's only going to cost him $500 round trip! Where as from Kansas City; we're looking at paying upwards of $900-1000? I even looked into flying to Chicago and then booking a seperate trip from Chicago to the DR!? In the end to fly to Chicago and then the DR would still be around $800!? Should I just keep watching the flight prices?? Has anyone booked theirs yet?

    hatfiehm- I felt really overwhelmed at first too; and had decided on the Hard Rock Punta Cana, but changed my mind after looking at prices and also finding all the great reviews on here and the facebook group about the Majestic! I don't get married until next January, but I've also read that some brides chose the resort based solely on the fact that they could book Photophil! I jumped on the chance to book him also and can't wait!! I hope that helps! Good luck!!!

    Has anybody had any luck finding any cheaper flights to the DR?? My wedding isn't until next January, but I just want to book and be DONE with it!!!! The group rate my TA quoted us was $900!!!!

    Does anybody know if you have your reception at the Steakhouse if you can use the menu for both the steakhouse and the seafood restaurant? I emailed my WC about getting me an updated menu and she sent me both menus that serve completely different options. I'm having my dinner at Asadito, but the See & Sea restaurant has the surf/turf option that I would love also!? I've emailed the WC, but you all know how fast they reply!! haha! Thanks!!

    YES! I'm not getting married until next January, so we have some time to watch the airfaire, but I'm scared because the average has been $500-700, but $900 is ridiculous!!! I even got my TA to look at group travel rates for 10 people traveling together and it wasn't any cheaper! I would say to wait and watch them....hopefully they'll go down! Also, set up a ding alert from airlines to your email, so you'll find out if they drop! Sorry I wasn't much help!!

    Hey girls! My wedding is not until January 2012, but with the help from this site and the facebook group I've decided to go with Phil Steingard!! His pictures are amazing!! The resort also doesn't charge an "outside photographer" fee because he works there so often! You guys should check out his website! PLUS he's there all the time, so he charges basically the same as he would in Canada if he can do more then one wedding when he travels. Good luck planning!!

    10 Months!!!! I need to get on it....I feel like it took me soooo long to find the perfect resort and date, that now I don't know what to do next!?! Have you guys already sent out STD cards? I really wanted to have engagement pics done before I sent them; so I could make my website! Whew...so much still to do!! Good luck planning! This forum has really saved my life. Everyone on here is so helpful!!!

    Try the New Moon Palace in Punta Cana forum! On the second page there is a BDW bride that posted a link to her shutterfly page!! The pictures are helpful, but they were also taken before it turned into a Hard Rock I think!? I'm still trying to decide too!! I hope that helps!

    jhern: I'm really glad to hear that the wedding coordinator at the HRH was good! Thanks for the information on the resort!! It's good to hear from people that have actually been there, it makes me nervous to book at a resort that I haven't even visited! Good luck planning and thanks again!!

    Thank you SO much for the pictures!!! Did you decide on the HRH for your wedding? Are there any other tips from your travel there or experience you had with the hotel? I've read so many mixed reviews that I don't know what to do!! Thanks!!

    Hi there! I've been having the same dilema myself with the Hard Rock Hotel....It looks AMAZING!!! My TA has actually been there recently and she had nothing but great things to say about the resort. Since it's a former Palace resort she said that there is a 5 star standard! I haven't booked there yet, but it's definitely the front runner!! I think it's hard to just "pick" a hotel to have your wedding at without having visited there first. We'll probably end up booking there anyways, because I can't stop looking at the pictures! Good luck to you!!!

    I'm sorry to be confusing the quote from my TA was for the resort stay/airfare packages and they are much more expensive then some of the other brides have posted! I think it'll be around $1500 for only 5 days/nights for stay and air! I'm not sure about the packages on line and what the additional cost that would be! I'll let you know if my TA has more info!!
